What you will be doing:
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily OMERS Pensions Operations and ensuring that processes and procedures are followed to see through the efficient execution of software releases the Products & Technology teams may have. You will be responsible for Incident Management, Change Management, Environment Management and other duties as required.
The Change and Operations Analyst also plays a critical role in identifying and mitigating risks that may impact the success of the release, communicating with stakeholders to ensure that everyone is aware of release schedules and progress, and continuously improving the release process and tools.
The ideal candidate for this role should have strong project management and communication skills, as well as a background in both operations engineering and release engineering.
To succeed in this role, you have:
University Degree or equivalent experience
1 – 3 years of experience with Incident and Change Management methodologies
Understanding of software methodologies (development, testing, deployment)
DevOps tools knowledge (Gitlab, Kubernetes, Ansible, Terraform etc.)
Observability tool familiarity (Datadog)
Cloud computing knowledge
Proven experience leading release activities and incidents to successful conclusion
Experience with Audit Management
Ability to generate meaningful metrics
ITIL certification preferred
Personable skills
Due to the nature of the work, this role will require hours of work outside usual business hours
