We are looking for a candidate for a regional role in Corporate Risk Management Department who will work as an individual contributor and be responsible for supporting overall enterprise-wide risk managements activities such as Governance and Strategy for APAC Risk function, Planning & Oversight of risk activities across all risk areas to realise effective 2nd line governance and oversight to regional branches in APAC (excl. Japan and China).

Job Responsibilities:

Governance and Strategy for APAC Risk function

Develop and implement the governance framework of enhanced risk-functional reporting line for risk units in 11 APAC branches. Support Head of Risk in branches to implement and execute the new frameworks and rules for HR affairs.

Develop framework to oversee budget and headcount strategy for APAC Risk, expense monitoring and cost control for each branches’ risk units.

Support Country Risk Officers on local regulatory and governance requirements, share best practices across region to promote consistency and standardization.

Planning and Oversight of risk activities

Coordination and preparation of materials for APAC/Singapore Risk Management Committees (RMC).

Support CRO for Asia’s participation in other regional and global management and governance committees.

Support the team to organize regular risk governance platforms (i.e. video conferencing, conferences) in collaboration with branches’ risk units, Partner Banks and other entities of MUFG.

Conduct Open Issues Monitoring (incl. regulatory and audit issues, SII) in a timely manner such as identify “High” risk items, review remediation actions and report to management and key committees.

Work closely with various stakeholders incl. regional SMEs, Branches and the Headquarters in Tokyo for planning and implementation of enhanced governance framework for risk management.

Assist Team for other divisional-wide activities such as townhall.

Job Requirements:

Degree qualified

Candidates with prior relevant internship in financial institutions and/or minimum 1 year of risk management experience would be preferred.Experience in preparing and delivering presentations to diverse audiences

Proficient in Microsoft Office

Experience in using macros/VBA and Tableau would be advantages

Good communication skills with the ability to work within a matrix governance environment which is maintained from both of the functional-vertical perspective and local-horizontal perspective in balance, and build effective partnership with key stakeholders

Preferably to have some experience in planning of strategy and governance, monitoring of budget & cost control

Good knowledge of risk management, including relevant risk regulations in the Asian region and understanding of industry trends/best practices and standards

Good project management skills and experience will be a strong plus

Ability to work effectively in a team environment, and takes initiatives to collaborate and challenge status quo, and adaptable to embrace new changes

Ability to articulate complex concepts and issues in a clear manner

Self-driven and independent with good attention to detail and accuracy

Self-motivated team player with good communication skills, both written and verbal.
