About this role
We are looking to add an Investment Grade credit research analyst with experience in the financial sector to be part of a dynamic investment team in Philadelphia. The research analyst will work closely with members of the global Credit Research team, portfolio managers, and risk professionals, reporting to the Global Head of Credit and Investment Research. Primary responsibilities include recommending issuers for inclusion on various approved lists, setting maturity and exposure limits, and conducting surveillance of approved issuers, all in accordance with Credit Committee guidelines. Given our strong credit focus, the role is critical to ensuring prudent risk-taking by our portfolio management team, and in communicating credit views with Cash Management clients.
Key responsibilities will include:
Credit quality assessment coverage of designated new and existing financial and non-financial issuers in partnership with senior research analysts
Real-time communication of fundamental credit views and investment recommendations to portfolio managers and other internal and external stakeholders
Serve as subject matter expert and fundamental “thought leader”
Leverage technology in support of the analysis process
Participate in various investment team meetings
Build strong working relationships across multiple groups both internally and externally
Share in issuer climate risk assessment process
Experience and knowledge required:
1 to 3 years of relevant foundational experience including ratio analysis, preferably in a top-tier credit research role or through roles in financial analysis or investment banking
Developed market investment grade knowledge and experience (with knowledge of structured credit a plus)
Strong quantitative skills and experience in financial modeling and analysis
Knowledge of impact of sustainability factors on credit quality
Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or a related field. Chartered Financial Analyst, MBA, master’s degree in finance, professional qualification in accountancy or progress toward is a plus.
Competencies required:
Excellent written and oral communication skills; detail oriented
Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and in a strong team environment
Excellent organizational skills with proficiency in management of an ample credit coverage or comparable remit in accordance with reporting deadlines
Decisive and prepared to take prudent action in conditions of uncertainty or ambiguity
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are a minimum requirement; computer programming/coding/AI skills including Python, SQL, Tableau are a plus
Fluency in English required.
