What You'll be Doing

As an Analyst, Entitlements, you will be responsible for providing timely and accurate operational support to all our Business partners across Canada and overseas. The Analyst will be responsible for accurately analyzing Entitlements Maturities Event Information and effectively reconciling, validating entitlements and electing on behalf of the clients to custodians and redemption payments to client accurately. This role is critical in managing and processing Entitlement events related to Maturities, early redemption and income distributions. Corporate Actions / Entitlements (Capital Markets Operations) is responsible for handling high dollar and risk transactions that are complex in nature with multiple inputs from the Business, Traders, External Brokers, Transfer agents and Depositories/Custodians on tight deadlines without direct supervision.  

The Analyst, Entitlements uses good judgement to prioritize to obtain complete and accurate information of client issues, provide clients with detailed explanations of recommendations and verify their understanding of the issues. In this role, you will be required to demonstrate strong technical and system knowledge to review and analyze data to ensure quality assurance of transactions and maintain customer satisfaction. In addition, you will proactively analyze and recommend enhancements to the existing business processes and clearly communicate rationale and negotiate solutions which will enhance operational effectiveness. Ensure that all assigned initiatives are implemented in an effective manner within area of responsibility. Participate in meetings to answer questions as the Subject Matter Expert. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of financial transactions with precision and accuracy and while exhibiting a risk-averse mindset to safeguard the organizations interests.

How You’ll Succeed

Team Player & Effective Communicator – Work effectively in a team and is focused on the achieving the team’s objectives. Effectively communicates with team members and business partners to ensure clear communication.Paying Attention to Detail - Reconcile high dollar and risk transactions prior to election, ensure elections are accurate across multiple custodians and ensuring the payment is made in an accurately and timely manner.  Analyze and reconcile data to ensure data integrity on client accounts, control accounts, submissions to depositories, and submissions to transfer agents. Complete all reconciliation activities and provide regular regulatory reporting to management team and control groups as requested ensuring accuracy of informationOperational Functions: Knowledge of major functional processes and associated operating requirements. Seeks efficiencies in operational functions wherever possible. Experience with SWIFT, Euroclear, DTC, CDS, ADP/Broadridge, BNP.Effective Time Management - Prioritize the work to be done in order to meet tight market deadlines or service level agreements.  Ensure all requests are received and processed in accordance to appropriate rules, regulations or procedures to meet service level agreements and customer satisfaction.Relationship Building - Collaborate with operations client service departments and external/internal business partners in order to identify service gaps and find appropriate solutions to solve them.

Who You Are

You're an experienced professional. You have experience in Entitlements, Corporate Action, North American and Foreign non-North American Markets securities. Experience/knowledge with stock lending is an asset.You have relevant education or experience. You have a degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. CSC certification is an asset. Must have a strong understanding of financial markets, instruments, and transaction processes. Understanding of trade life cycle and settlement process.You understand that success is in the details.
