PurposeThe Analyst, Finance is a key member of the Finance team. Reporting directly to the Director, Site Business you will play an important role in supporting the annual business planning and forecasting processes working with multiple financial systems, supporting the Site Investment Council process by generating analysis and financial modelling for investment decisions. You will also perform the analysis of monthly financial results with a focus on operating cost and productions key performance indicators analysis. Your role will also include responsibilities related to financial compliance, internal controls, and improvement of business processes. The annual base salary for this position ranges from $83,400 to $111,180, depending on experience and qualifications.
Essential Duties
• Supporting month-end accounting process, including managing accruals for major contract services, cost allocations and account reconciliations on timely manner
• Completing the reconciliation of production key performance on timely manner liaising with site technical service team
• Coordinating cost review process, including reporting/analytics to drive accountability and alignment with guidance
• Work closely with site leadership team to analyze cost variances and highlight trends within the key performance indicators and suggest cost-saving initiatives
• Supporting business planning process, including preparation of multi-year business plans and quarterly forecasts for site operating expenditures
• Developing financial models and templates based on first principles to optimize the planning of site operating expenditures
• Assisting in system configurations and modifications to ensure the integrity and alignment with Company standards and best practices
• Maintaining cost control accounts to ensure the alignment with business plans across multiple systems
• Supporting Site Investment Council process and advising site leadership team with the path forward for investment decisions
• Performing Statistics Canada requests on timely manner
• Liaising with internal and external auditors to ensure the compliance of internal controls
• Other finance-related duties, as required
• Business, Finance, Accounting, Commerce Degree or MBA
• CPA and/or CFA desirable
• Strong MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and financial modelling skills
• Working knowledge of SAP, SAP BPC, Financial Planning Systems preferred
• Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably in an industrial setting
Full-time position working primarily in Vancouver, Canada, with occasional site travel as required.
