Primary Responsibilities

The Freight Claims Analyst is a multifaceted role responsible for ensuring accurate freight charges, identifying and recouping overcharges, and optimizing transportation costs. This position combines freight auditing, claims management, and financial analysis to drive cost savings and improve operational efficiency. Essential Functions

DUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Act as a liaison between freight carriers and Audit/Payment Service Provider.Conduct audit review of freight bills.Generate audit-related reports, including regular reporting and ad-hoc reporting requests.Correct invoicing errors and report on audit results.Collect, file, and process all activities associated with KeHE freight OS&D cargo claims.Analyze the activity of the U.S. Business’ $250-500M open freight claims from inception to final collection.Assist in the establishment and on-going maintenance of the business’ targets and KPI’s involving cargo claims and OS&D.Process the organization’s warehouse over and short, freight checks and correspondence back to Accounts Receivable for reconciliation. Create and maintain performance reports for all logistics service providers involved with cargo claim and OS&D activity. In this role, you will play a crucial part in optimizing our current freight payable and carrier claims processes to enhance efficiency.Investigate shipment exceptions, collect data requisite to the filing of claims and monitor the process in accordance with the rules, regulations, and existing precedents. Support in providing freight pricing for potential new business developments. Other duties and projects as assigned. Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office. (Word, Excel, Outlook).Ability to synthesize data to understand business and market trends to increase revenue and efficiency. Excellent oral and written communication skills, accurate with details and a demonstrated ability to communicate with cross-functional teams and with external partners. A team player who works well with others. Growth mindset – passionate for your craft, seeking to continuously improve yourself as well the organization, with tolerance to ambiguity and change. Ability to prioritize and multitask.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, and/or Supply Chain Management.Previous Freight Industry/Trucking Knowledge and/or Experience.Previous Financial/Accounting Knowledge and/or Experience.Prior TMS, US Bank Syncada, IBM Cognos experience. 2+ years’ experience in Transportation & Freight Cost Management, Logistics, Supply Chain and/or Operations processes and systems or accounts payable preferred.
