Job Description

Purpose of the role:

Reporting to the Managing Partner, Infrastructure, Korea / Head of Brookfield Korea, this role offers the opportunity to play a key role in a growing investment team with a mandate to invest in infrastructure assets, including, but not limited to energy, utilities, transport, telecommunications, data centres, digital infrastructure and renewable power in Korea.

The Analyst will be involved in a range of acquisitions, divestments and asset management initiatives. These tasks include quantitative and qualitative analysis such as industry research, financial analysis, financial modelling and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

This role is best suited to someone with the following attributes:

Strong interest in infrastructure, corporate finance, M&A, and real assets,

Sound commercial judgement, the ability to clearly articulate a situation, the relevant, considerations and make well-reasoned recommendation(s)

Is able to work collaboratively within investments team and with other business stakeholders to achieve outcomes

Manages multiple projects, prioritises appropriately, and meets deadlines

A proactive, self-starter who is capable of working by themselves or as part of a larger team

Responsible for:

The Analyst’s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

Contribute to investment sourcing and execution

Assist in targeting and evaluating new infrastructure investment opportunities

Assist in developing ideas for potential transaction and deal structure, perform industry research and evaluate potential opportunities

Assess potential investments through building detailed financial models to evaluate potential transactions and company/industry research

Work with Brookfield’s operational team and advisors as a key aspect of the planning and completion of due diligence

Prepare investment committee materials and other transaction documents

Contribute to flexible, dynamic and team-oriented working culture that fosters personal development and a positive attitude

Identify and assess potential risks and devise appropriate risk mitigation strategies

Build financial models that include operational, financing, tax, valuation and other relevant aspects to support financial analysis

Assist with the asset management of allocated portfolio companies, by monitoring performance of portfolio companies, assisting with strategic initiatives and participating in special projects as required.

Work with colleagues and peers both within Brookfield and externally by developing strong networks with consultancies, industry professionals to continue to develop Brookfield’s infrastructure profile and business in Asia-Pacific

Participate in special projects as required

Qualifications/ Experience/Skills

Experience in business development, corporate strategy, financial analysis, transaction execution and corporate finance

1-3 years relevant experience in private equity/investment banking/ strategy consulting/accounting firm

High level of proficiency in Excel, Power Point, and other applications typically required within an investment analysis role

Key Competencies

Bi-lingual in Korean and English to highest professional standards both written and verbal

Ability to work independently and proactively

Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, with ability to think laterally for the benefit of the division and company as a whole

Team-oriented; excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop collaborative relationships at all levels in the organization

Strong technical skills including:
