The International Logistics Analyst acts as the primary liaison between GPC subsidiaries and GPC’s carriers, forwarders, and logistics partners, to optimize the movement of goods in GPC’s various international supply chains. The role serves as a logistics subject matter expert and primary contact for resolving problems and managing exceptions related to international shipments for GPC subsidiaries.
Primary ResponsibilitiesMonitoring shipments inbound to the US, CA, and MX for subsidiaries of Genuine Parts Company, and communicating shipment status updates as needed.Coordinating inbound and outbound traffic with service providers and subsidiary destinations, including ocean, air, and domestic transportation.Intervening with service providers on behalf of the subsidiaries to resolve transit problems.Generating shipment tracking data reports for subsidiary destinations.Arranging optimal transportation and logistics routings for all modes of transportation, including oversized and overweight freight.Providing freight rate quotes to subsidiaries.Analyzing and monitoring supply chain KPIs and identifying improvement areas based on service provider performance.Providing knowledge and support for import and export activities to subsidiary supply chains.Collaborating with subsidiaries to support various supply chain initiatives.Developing, creating, and contributing to reporting and presentation needs related to logistics communications.Conducting service invoice audits, managing corrections and credits as needed.Skills and AbilitiesExperience with data analytics preferred.Understanding of subsidiary autonomy.Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, and prioritize responsibilities.Ability to work independently and also in a team oriented, collaborative environment.Ability to resolve situations quickly, communicate status of problems, and work with the appropriate subject matter experts to achieve required outcomes.Qualifications1 – 3 years’ experience in Transportation or Logistics field.Bachelor’s in Transportation Management or Logistics is preferred.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with proven ability utilizing Excel. Ability to learn and utilize various types of software and information systems.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Experience with exporting and/or importing via various ports of entry and modes of transportation preferred.Experience with complex organizational supply chains and systems preferred.Not the right fit?
