Analyst, Lease Accounting

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Lease Accountant Analyst to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing lease accounting activities in compliance with GAAP (ASC 842). You will work closely with various global departments to ensure accurate reporting and analysis of lease transactions.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:
 

Lease Administration:Abstract new leases into the lease reporting tool and assist in maintaining the tool to ensure all leases are accurately recorded.Oversee the full lease lifecycle, including lease initiation, modifications, renewals, and terminations.Accounting Compliance:Ensure compliance with ASC 842 (and assist with local statutory accounting including Dutch GAAP and IFRS).Prepare and review journal entries related to lease obligations and related assets.Prepare lease reconciliations and investigate differences.Financial Reporting:Assist in annual budget and quarterly forecast updates.Analyze lease data and prepare reports for management and stakeholders.Accurately process lease invoices.Learn and communicate non-GAAP metrics associated with leases that are important to a REIT (EBITDA/AFFO).Collaboration:Work closely with the procurement and legal teams to review lease agreements and ensure proper accounting treatment.Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations regarding lease transactions.Process Improvement:Identify opportunities for process improvements in lease accounting and reporting.Assist in the implementation of new systems or tools to enhance lease management.

QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES):

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting0-3 years of experienceCPA or CMA is a plusPrior experience with WorkDay is a plusExperience with lease management software is a plusAble to perform in a fast-paced environment
