We Are Brookfield Properties:We are seeking a Legal Analyst to join the Brookfield Properties Logistics Division in Atlanta. Brookfield Properties North America Logistics is a fully integrated vertical within Brookfield that focuses on the acquisition, development, and management of industrial properties across the U.S. and Canada.

Role & Responsibilities:The Legal Analyst will be a member of the Brookfield Properties North American Logistics legal team and will report to the team’s Senior Associate responsible for corporate secretarial functions and corporate legal operations. The Legal Analyst’s day-to-day responsibilities will focus on corporate record keeping, compliance and entity maintenance, including the following:
Assist with all corporate legal matters relating to the formation, qualification and management of legal entities, and coordinate with accounting team to facilitate opening of bank accounts
Assist with corporate secretarial function, including the maintenance of digital minute books, officer/director slates and corporate records consistent with Brookfield’s entity protocols
Implement and manage legal document management system, including saving and maintaining organization of all legal documents; coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure appropriate sharing of organizational and closing documentation
Coordinate execution of signature pages in connection with closing of acquisitions, financings and dispositions
Assist with the preparation of consents, resolutions, certificates and other instruments necessary to facilitate the management of legal entities
Assist with the preparation and maintenance of organizational charts; coordinate with legal and regulatory teams across Brookfield
Assist with coordinating entity compliance with lenders and providing due diligence documentation
Assist with tracking dates by regularly updating spreadsheets or internal databases and confirming with Logistics regional team members for accuracy
Coordinate with marketing team to implement intellectual property screening for new developments and repositioned real estate assets
In addition, the Legal Analyst will support other members of the legal team in connection with the execution of transactions and the management of operational and legal issues within the North American Logistics portfolio, including the following items:
Assist in drafting of management agreements, commission agreements, confidentiality agreements, service agreements, easements, notices, estoppels and other similar agreements and contracts related to the acquisition, development, operation and disposition of Logistics assets
Assist in monitoring due diligence and preparation of due diligence memoranda in connection with acquisition of land sites for development
Assist in monitoring leasing and operational issues, including any disputes or litigation, within NA Logistics portfolio, including maintenance of legal trackers
Assist in the preparation of documentation and agreements related to execution of development projects, including consultant agreements, service contracts, utility agreements, work orders, change orders, and certificates of insurance
Assist in the administration of the team’s regulatory and compliance program, including its anti-bribery and corruption program and policy and adherence to responsible contractor principles
Your Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree required; certificate from an ABA-certified paralegal program or qualifying legal experience
Minimum of two years of relevant work experience at a large law firm and/or in-house at a real estate company, private equity firm or corporate legal department
Meticulous attention to detail, and exceptional organizational and project management skills
Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills
Strong ability to work well under pressure, handle multiple tasks, function independently with minimal supervision and to prioritize workload
High level of ethics and integrity, including attentiveness to issues of confidentiality and data privacy
Ability to provide timely and accurate responses to inquiries, draft correspondence and handle administrative duties
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, and ability to become quickly familiar with customized accounting and real estate software systems
Experience in corporate database entry and maintenance
Experience with real estate due diligence, real estate finance and leasing, with construction and development experience a plus
Notary public certified required
Willing to travel as necessary to other NA Logistics offices and team conferences
