Whirlpool is seeking qualified candidates for the Legal Analyst position on the Transactions Legal team. The successful candidate will have experience negotiating and managing contracts with specific focus in procurement contracts as part of Whirlpool’s Transactions Legal Team. The right candidate will advise and effectively collaborate with other corporate functions, such as Whirlpool's Corporate Global Strategic Sourcing (GSS), Finance, Treasury, Risk Management, Corporate Communications, and functional support groups in connection with procurement transactions and other subject matter experts. The Legal Analyst will also be expected to communicate clearly with business stakeholders and internal clients on transactions and other corporate and business matters, as well as internal law department colleagues and outside counsel, as appropriate.
Your responsibilities will include
Specific responsibilities of the Legal Analyst will include:
Serve as technical expert for the company’s Procurement contracts and related projects in Mexico.
Advise internal business partners on the full lifecycle of procurement and other contract transactions.
Support procurement stakeholders including but not limited to direct and indirect procurement, IT procurement, supplier relationship management, supplier onboarding, contractual disputes, and other matters from a commercial perspective.
Create and/or revise contract templates and/or support management of contract databases.
Advise and collaborate with other team members and corporate functions, such as Whirlpool's Finance, Treasury, Risk Management, Investor Relations, Corporate Communications, and Benefits groups in connection with corporate transactions and other matters.
Develop and administer training to the procurement function and extended teams in corporate governance, contracts, and other relevant areas.
Minimum requirements
Minimum Requirements
Law degree from an accredited law school or university.
A valid license to practice law in Mexico.
2+ years of focused contract transactions experience
Procurement support experience such as direct or indirect procurement, IT procurement, supplier relationship management, supplier onboarding, sales activities, contractual disputes, or other matters from a commercial perspective.
Law firm experience and/or in-house experience
English
Preferred skills and experiencesProcurement legal experience is a plus.
Experience creating contract templates or experience managing contract databases
Technical and project management skills involving complex, global procurement transactions.
Demonstrated leadership skills; sound character; excellent judgment.
Ability to drive followership among legal peers and other subject matter experts
Ability to prioritize and manage a large volume of concurrent projects.
Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate (both orally and in writing) and interact effectively at all levels of an organization; ability to identify critical issues and convey them in a manner that is useful to the client.
Demonstrated ability to achieve results.
