Analyst, Middle Office - Security Reference

Role Summary

This position performs accurate and timely set up and maintenance of securities (stock, bonds, and derivatives) that are needed for immediate trading while ensuring daily operational deadlines are met. Concurrently, oversees T. Rowe Price's service provider who performs setups and maintenance of securities that are not needed for immediate trading. Works under minimal supervision with direct accountability for checklist tasks and daily processes. Develops in-depth knowledge and expertise in their own job discipline and working knowledge of related disciplines within the Middle Office. Works closely with trading, compliance, operations, relationship managers, technology teams and vendors to ensure a seamless and efficient stakeholder experience. Leads or assists with projects and work streams that are related to security reference data across the firm. Approaches this role with the mindset of wanting to understand the how and why behind it. Participates in cross-departmental and cross-divisional initiatives designed to improve accuracy, generate efficiencies, and reduce risk. Responsibilities

Executes or coordinates the processing of security setup and maintenance, ensuring activities are accurate and compliant. Escalates identified issues and seeks guidance on appropriate corrective actions.

Performs oversight of T. Rowe Price's service provider

Interacts with securities operations staff, relationship managers, portfolio managers, trading desks, and investment liaisons to collect and communicate basic information that impacts securities.

Creates or updates processes and procedures

Identifies and executes process improvement opportunities.

With guidance and following established controls, checks and validates third-party data imports.

Assists with process transitions to the end-state infrastructure.

Aggregates feedback for management and third-party vendors on timeliness and quality.

Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience AND 2+ years of total relevant work experience.

Preferred:

4+ years of total relevant work experience

Experience in investment operations

Knowledge of the securities or financial services industry

SQL database management experience

Security Master experience

Bloomberg experience

Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines

Demonstrated ability to collaborate in a team environment and build strong relationships

Demonstrated initiative to proactively drive process improvement opportunities

Grasps complexities and perceives relationships among issues

Strong written and verbal communication skills

FINRA Requirements

FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.

Work Flexibility

This role is eligible for hybrid work, with up to two days per week from home.

Base Salary Ranges

Please review the job posting for the location of this specific opportunity.

$68,000.00 - $116,000.00 for the location of: Maryland, Colorado, Washington and remote workers
$74,500.00 - $127,000.00 for the location of: Washington, D.C.
$85,000.00 - $145,000.00 for the location of: New York, California

Placement within the range provided above is based on the individual’s relevant experience and skills for the role.  Base salary is only one component of our total compensation package.  Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon company and individual performance.
