Job Description:
We’re looking for a Analyst, Operations Control & Governance to join our Canada Operations Line 1B Risk and Controls team at MBPS. The Canada Operations Line 1B Risk and Controls team partners with various Operations business/product lines such as Group Benefits, Insurance, Call Centres, etc. to promote risk awareness and management of day-to-day risk reduction activities. This team is seeking an enthusiastic, organized, and analytical individual as the Analyst, Operations Control & Governance who will support Canada Operations in execution of the core components of its Operational Risk Management Framework.
This is an individual contributor role which requires successful collaboration with team members in Canada as well as with business and functional areas subject matter experts and other stakeholders including ORM, Legal, Finance, HR, IT and Compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Controls testing- Assess control effectiveness by performing end-to-end process walkthroughs with Process and Control Owners; Assess control operating effectiveness by collecting and reviewing control evidence from Control Owners and Document controls and Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) for any identified control gaps.
Corrective Action Plans (CAP) – Support Manager in Canada to collect/review evidence to close CAPs
Access reviews- Support Manager in Canada to perform access reviews for ACLs, SharePoint sites and Systems.
Maintain strong business relationships with internal business and functional support areas and develop and deliver presentations to senior audiences.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, finance and / or industry certificate in operational risk.
Experience: 3-5 years of related experience with good understanding of business processes, risks and controls or exposure to business unit operational functions and projects that incorporate the usage of operational risk management methodologies.
Shift Schedule: Graveyard/Night Shift
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days work from home)
Good to have:
Knowledge of Insurance, Group Benefits, Affinity and or Contact Centres operations is a plus.
Familiarity with Archer record creation, maintenance and reporting is a plus
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Highly organized with an ability to work in a fast-paced, multi stakeholder environment and manage multiple priorities.
Strong analytical skills and ability to review patterns in large data sets.
