Position Summary:
The Product Analyst is responsible for collaborating with the product owner to document the strategy, vision, and roadmap of a product, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives. The analyst will author user stories, manage the product backlog, and ensure features meet stakeholder expectations. This role includes supporting API certification processes, ensuring seamless integration and compliance for internal teams and external API partners/consumers. The analyst collaborates with Delivery, Product, Engineering, Architecture, Infrastructure, and Security teams throughout the product lifecycle.
The role also includes supporting API partners/consumers during onboarding and certification, ensuring proper implementation and adherence to compliance standards. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and a solid understanding of API technologies and product development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Work with the product owner to understand customer expectations, requirements, and business values for platform features.
2. Participate in planning sessions to create a feature-based roadmap; document objectives and milestones discussed by all relevant stakeholders (internal and external).
3. Participate in milestone demonstrations with stakeholders.
4. Apply analytical skills to evaluate and document accurate business requirements and present these requirements concisely and flexibly.
5. Document business workflows, gather and analyze requirements, and serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and the product development team.
6. Document scope and groom the product team backlog regularly.
7. Author user stories with sufficient details and acceptance criteria in collaboration with the Product Owner.
8. Document all product/application decisions for the scrum team during sprint planning.
9. Document risks and escalate, when necessary, in collaboration with the Product Owner.
10. Document cross-team dependencies to prevent impediments and foster collaboration.
11. Use JIRA, Confluence, and other tools to provide metrics and reports for sprint and project management.
12. Investigate and solve business problems working with the product team and all relevant stakeholders.
13. Support API certification processes by defining requirements, reviewing technical documentation, and ensuring partner integrations comply with security and functionality standards.
14. Assist API partners/consumers through onboarding, testing, and certification to ensure proper integration with platform APIs.
15. Maintain and update API documentation, testing protocols, and certification standards for internal and external use.
16. Remain current with industry trends in API security, testing, and certification standards.
17. Perform other duties as required.
Financial Responsibilities:
• Working knowledge of accounting rules for product capital and expense activities.
• Identifies optimization opportunities to manage costs and ensure technology expenditures align with business objectives.
• Tracks effort hours by activity in a time management tool.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Preferred 1-3 years of work experience as a Product Analyst, Product Owner, or API Certification Analyst in Software Engineering/Information Technology.
• Experience with API lifecycle management, testing, and certification processes.
• Familiarity with API tools (e.g., Postman, Swagger, Apigee, or similar).
• Understanding of REST, SOAP, GraphQL, and other API frameworks.
• Knowledge of API security standards (OAuth, JWT, API Gateways).
• Strong communication skills for working with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Understanding of cloud-based solutions and API gateway platforms (e.g., AWS API Gateway, Azure API Management).
• Familiarity with security protocols such as OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and API rate limiting.

Experience and Skills:
• Experience with API integration, certification, and lifecycle management.
• Knowledge of API security, performance testing, and compliance.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
• Ability to collaborate with internal teams and external partners to meet integration and certification goals.
• Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.
• Experience in the Travel/Hospitality industry is a plus.
Physical Demands:
While performing job functions, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, write, review and type reports, compile data, operate a PC, communicate, listen, and assess information. The employee may move about the office complex, travel to other office locations, and may lift, push, pull, or move 10 to 15 pounds. Visual requirements include distant, close, and color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
