Requirements

Georgetown University’s Office of Advancement is committed to cultivating a safe, equitable, diverse, and inclusive work environment that honors the diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives of our broader colleagues and broader Georgetown community. Consistent with our Jesuit values, we aim to foster a culture that accepts and cares for each individual, and we believe this is central to achieving our goals in support of Georgetown’s mission. Learn more about the Office of Advancement here.

The Strategic Initiatives (SI) team is a campaign strategy and planning team in the Office of Advancement responsible for preparing the university’s priority educational, research, and institutional projects for fundraising with current and potential donors. Working directly with university and Advancement leadership, the Strategic Initiatives team develops the content that comprises the university’s top giving priorities—concepts that relate both to societal imperatives and to the philanthropic objectives of the university and its donors. The team partners directly with Georgetown’s frontline fundraising team to craft customized gift solicitation proposals representing these and other priorities to donors.

The Analyst, Strategic Initiatives ensures the highest levels of customer service and effective team administration for the Strategic Initiatives team, including responding to requests for partnership from frontline fundraisers, Advancement colleagues, and campus partners. The incumbent schedules team project intake meetings, managing the layout (using InDesign) and proofing of all SI materials. Additional duties include, but are not limited to:

Ensure the effective organization and distribution of SI resources to the Office of Advancement, managing the team’s data input in the GU360 Salesforce CRM.

Assist with researching and writing custom donor proposals for gifts of at least $100,000, or work on special assignments in collaboration with senior members of the Strategic Initiatives team.

Provide executive support to the Assistant Vice President, Strategic Initiatives, including calendar management and expense requests.

Work with SI colleagues to ensure SI team projects are efficiently managed from start to finish, “managing upward” with colleagues on the SI team and in different departments to ensure projects meet deadlines.

Support work led by senior members of the Strategic Initiatives team to develop internal and external collateral in support of initiatives reflecting priorities for major schools and units of the university, including by maintaining an up-to-date library of resources within Advancement-internal drives.

The Analyst will report to the Assistant Vice President, Strategic Initiatives, and will support administrative tasks and projects in close collaboration with all members of the Strategic Initiatives team.
