Job Description and Responsibilities

Our team members are innovative thinkers and strategic problem solvers who are as analytical as they are creative. This individual is a full-stack user experience designer with hands-on human centered design thinking, UX/UI, research, service design, prototyping and facilitation skills. The designer will deliver polished UX/UI artifacts and human-centric design expertise for our clients.

This designer will need to develop a nuanced understanding of emerging digital payment trends as well as Visa’s capabilities and services to effectively leverage the right products and services at the right time in the solutions we design. 

Potential candidates should be highly motivated and people-oriented, motivated to help clients and partners bring new solutions to life, from imagination to commercialization, solving user pain points and delivering compelling corporate, commercial and consumer payments and money movement experiences of the future.

Role Responsibilities:

Collaborate with designers and business partners to build upon their vision using sound UX principles.Provide support for Design Sprint, Co-Creation Sessions and Bespoke projects.Make informed design decisions based on a thorough understanding of contemporary human-computer interaction.Advocate for the user by demonstrating a clear understanding of user-centered design.Develop extensible and scalable design tools, systems, and assets for our practice.Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, customer service, and interpersonal skills.Present and communicate design decisions to internal and external stakeholders.Exercise independent judgment with minimal direction from a supervisor.

Essential Functions:

Expertise in human-computer interaction and user-centered design.Proficient on UX/UI design, interaction principles, and best practicesProficient in using and creating design systems, low to high-fidelity wireframes, rapid prototyping, and polished user interface design.Excellent attention to detail and maintaining consistency across multiple design elements and interactions.Proficient in digital design software such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Miro and Mural or related software industry.Experienced in designing user experience maps, service blueprints and workflows.Strong knowledge of service design and knowledgeable of design thinking methodology.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including UX writing expertise and capturing requirements.Strong high-level conceptual thinking with the ability to communicate concepts and recommendations confidently to various audiences.Excellent presentation skills that effectively communicate strategy.Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks, self-manage time, and work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Ideally you have experience creating or collaborating on research plans, conducting user research, interviewing, observing user behaviors, or usability testing sessions to understand user needs and enhance digital products.Ideally you have experience running or collaborating on client engagements, discoveries, co-creation, or design sprints with strong client orientation and group facilitation skills.Experience with HTML/JS/CSS is a plus.Experience with SCRUM in an Agile environment is a plus.Experience in designing financial experiences is a plus.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
•2 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD)

Preferred Qualifications:
•3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
•3-5 years of experience working as a product or digital designer, preferably in consultancies, digital product or innovation teams, or established startups, with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in user-centered design, interaction design, and visual design.
•Bilingual in English and Portuguese (verbal and written).
•Spanish language skills are a plus (ability to communicate).
