Job Description:

The US Consumer Staples Equity research team covers the Packaged Food, Beverage, Personal Care/Household products and Tobacco companies.  The team currently covers 42 listed issuers and more than $1trillion in market cap. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 year of work experience preferably with prior finance/accounting experience, prior consumer products industry experience not required.  This role work alongside their Senior Analyst and Junior Analysts in all aspects from covering stocks, idea generation to company meetings, and will play a critical part in providing the financial modeling and qualitative analysis for ECC meetings, sales teach-ins.

Responsibilities

Perform complex financial modeling & valuation workWrite regular industry and company reports and company launch initiations from scratchSupporting Senior Analyst on select companiesDevelop databases integral to our research productDemonstrate strong industry knowledge and business judgmentWork with Senior Analysts to develop key industry themesBuild relationships and facilitate information flow with contacts at covered companiesParticipate and contribute to client meetings and eventsAttend meetings and interact with key opinion leadersClosely follow and understand market, industry and company specific activity, and relay to analyst when travelingSeek out new, unusual sources of informationLeverage our robust network of industry contactsInteract regularly with clients

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent years of experienceMUST have strong modeling skillsExperience with Bloomberg and/or FactSet tools a distinct positiveStrong writing and spreadsheet skills. Must be an expert at MS Word and MS ExcelAlong with Finance and Accounting, should have basic understanding of economics, macroeconomic factors, international affairs, and policy/politicsMust have excellent communication skills, written and verbalMust have strong attention to detail, ability to multi-taskMust work well in a collaborative team environment
