Job Summary

Actively supports the marketing department in obtaining work (drilling contract customer commitments) for Transocean drilling units. Travels as needed. Maintains the customer relationship management system records. Leads the proposal development process from start to finish. Participate on contracts reviews and negotiations. Maintains existing customer contracts, including the preparation of amendments, assignments, escalations, etc. Obtains approval documents (RAR, 10-COPs, email approval requests), records ALM approvals and provide evidence to support internal and external audits. Manages and administrates all marketing related systems (MIDAS, Rig Central/SharePoint, Bid Collaboration Tool) including training of new elements and procedures, maintains the data integrity and compiling documentation. Produces and provides statistical reports, analysis, and presentation materials to management to assist with the earnings calls and board of directors’ report, the investor relations and additional ad-hoc reports to multiple departments.

Job Description

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

Customer Bids and Proposals: Plans and coordinates the process of customer tender response, bid and proposal preparation, solicitation, and consolidation of functional review input to ensure organized and timely delivery of high-quality, branded proposals. Maintains compliant records. Independently reviews tender packages, drafts and provides proposal delegations to multiple departmental as identified, and exercises judgment in consolidating functional responses.  Coordinates the review of contracts and bid content by functional departments (e.g. legal, tax and financial departments) and compiles the response matrix. Assists field marketing personnel by drafting proposal letters. Compiles hard copies as needed,and ensures proper timing for delivery requirements. Works directly with the customer and field marketing team to set up customer vendor portals for which tender inquiries will be released and submitted. Develops and maintains the bid collaboration tool and archive for bid activities globally. Travels as needed. Maintains the customer relationship management system records. Prepares approval documents (RAR, 10-COPs, email approval requests) and obtains and records ALM approvals.

Contract Management: After a contract is fully executed, ensures that it is distributed to the customer and within Transocean to those who will execute its terms (operations management, rig accounting, treasury, legal operations). In consultation with the Senior Manager, Contracts and Proposals, lead and administer the post signature commercial requirements of the contract, customer requests for variations and amendments, and liaises with field marketing and operations to support the ongoing customer relationship.

Contract Negotiation: Together with Senior Manager, Contracts and Proposals, review customer proposed contract documents and participate on contract negotiations.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Legal, Finance, Engineering or another related field.

Experience:

Minimum Required: 1 to 3 years of professional experience in discipline. 3+ years' experience using Excel, including writing advanced formulas, and working with pivot tables. Experience using Adobe Professional and Creative Suite.Preferred Level: Experience with contracts. Experience with databases, CRM and ERP systems preferred. Proposal lifecycle experience preferred.

Skills:

Position requires acute attention to detail and extreme organizational skills. Ideal candidate must demonstrate the ability to learn new information quickly and respond to changing conditions. Candidate must possess excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with other departments, customers and personnel at all levels. Ability to take initiative, self-start, prioritize tasks, and handle details. Demonstrated ability to be responsive to multiple projects.
