The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) is looking for a dynamic, full-time Policy & Planning Analyst III to join our Planning Program team! In this impactful role, you will provide vital planning expertise to both WYDOT and local government leaders, helping drive the development of transportation and land use strategies that promote economic growth, enhance community development, and ensure efficient land use across the state. As a Policy & Planning Analyst III, you'll play a key part in shaping statewide and local policies, guiding active transportation plans, and working on projects that support Wyoming's long-term goals. Human Resource Contact: 307-777-4356 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed at the job level. + Assists in the development and execution of local, regional, and statewide plans, studies, and analyses providing direct benefit to Wyoming’s communities and economic drivers + Supports activities related to goals and objectives of WYDOT’s Long Range, Resiliency, Freight, Rail, and other plans, by coordinating with communities, industry leaders, stakeholders, and federal partners + Coordinates with and provides professional transportation planning guidance and assistance to community groups, urban areas, towns, and counties + Assists with the development of local and regional planning studies and ensures the administration of planning contracts is completed as outlined in WYDOT Policy + Recommends priorities, schedules, and possible funding sources to initiate and implement improvement plans + Provides technical expertise on local planning efforts, informs and assists local communities with funding opportunities through WYDOT's Local Government Coordination Office + Schedules, conducts and attends meetings with elected officials, chambers, and economic development groups as needed to analyze and update community population, demographic, and socioeconomic trends along with other factors as they relate to WYDOT’s planning processes Qualifications KNOWLEDGE: + Knowledge of data sets and processes utilized in comprehensive agency planning studies (including multi-modal, corridor, interchange, lad use, etc.), as well as methodologies for data collection and analysis for the Planning Program + Knowledge of transportation planning practices and data management + Strong demonstration of writing skills is required for this position MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor's Degree (typically in Business) Experience: 0-3 years of progressive work experience (typically in Business) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Policy & Planning Analyst I OR Education & Experience Substitution: 4-6 years of progressive work experience (typically in Business) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Policy & Planning Analyst I Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: None Necessary Special Requirements NOTES: + FLSA: Non-Exempt + E-Verify: WYDOT uses E-Verify, an Internet-based system, to confirm the eligibility of all newly hired employees to work in the United States.
