The Analytics and Innovation (Ai) team at United Airlines works to innovate, transform, and solve complex business problems resulting in significant and measurable enterprise impact through the application of deep cross-functional business expertise and advanced analytics. We work with business and technology partners across the enterprise (e.g. Airport Operations, Contact Centers, Network Planning, Revenue Management, Digital Products, Human Resources, etc.) to influence strategic decisions, enterprise strategy, business process, and to help connect the dots across the enterprise. Team members within Ai partner with business areas to improve operating efficiencies of departments across the enterprise. Projects range in duration and complexity from quick analyses to large scale transformative efforts. The team uses an array of analytical, technical, and consulting skills, including Lean Six Sigma, organizational change, time and motion studies, statistical data analysis, and model development and validation.
Analysts demonstrate these skills to support beneficial projects across many of United’s departments.
Key Responsibilities:Working on projects in conjunction with business teams to identify opportunities for improvement, gather and analyze information and data, develop improvements and innovationsGathering and analyzing data of United’s various operations to make fact-based, data-driven recommendationsUtilizing technical skills and software (simulation in SIMO/ARENA, Excel, VBA, etc.) to analyze and improve business processes and to create tools for use by other departmentsPerforming measurement and analysis (time and motion studies) in different environments, including airports, maintenance bases, customer contact centers, etc.Presenting compelling findings to business leaders leading to quantifiable improvementsHelping develop new projects and opportunities through research and analysisQualificationsWhat’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, or Business Administration or equivalent work experience.Excellent communications skillsProficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office products and understanding statistical software (e.g. Minitab, JMP, etc.)Excellent analytical and problem solving skillsStrong interpersonal skills with a focus on collaboration and teamworkWorking knowledge of project management disciplineMust be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship or future sponsorship for a full/part-time position.Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualificationReliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the positionMust live in, or willing to relocate to Houston, TXWhat will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):Master’s degree in Engineering, Technology, or Business Administration Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification from a recognized institution Experience with statistical software (Minitab, JMP, etc.), and programming tools (SQL, Visual Basic (VBA), etc.)United Airlines is an equal opportunity employer. The base pay range for this role is $64,885.00 to $88,440.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
