Global Merchant Network Services (GMNS) has relationships with millions of merchant businesses, in more than 25 countries, and delivers over $1.5T in spend. The people, processes, and technology that support this vital function are evolving to improve the merchant experience and economics. The Global Strategy & Capabilities (GS&C) team’s mission is to deliver a best-in-class premium merchant experience that will get merchants to not only accept American Express, but openly welcome and recommend us to their customers. 

The Global Policy & Standards (GPS) team within GS&C develops American Express Partner and Merchant Policy, Standards, and Programs to remain competitive, support new products & capabilities, improve data quality, and promote compliance.

Reporting to Manager Global Network Policy, the Technical Writer for Policy is an exciting opportunity for a talented writer to drive a vision that continues to evolve Network policy and process.

Key responsibilities of the role will include:

Utilize Microsoft Office tools, FrameMaker, and Adobe to manage day-to-day writing and publishing for new and updated policy and technical content, including: Document creation, maintenance, correcting errors, and generating PDFs Generating, formatting and updating documents: books, lists, tables, master -pages, reference -pages, indexes, text inserts, cross- references, markers, variables, etc. Ability to balance multiple projects and complete all required deliverables within prescribed timelines Maintain high accuracy and thoroughness while executing tasks through a document’s creation, maintenance, editing, and delivery While these describe the overall responsibilities of the position, additional duties may be assigned 

Qualifications:

Four + years of experience in technical writing (financial services industry experience preferred) Advanced experience in FrameMaker Proven experience with Adobe Experience Manager Guides, drafting content within the DITA XML framework, and creating/modifying systematic workflows. Strong organization and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects with competing timelines Proven flexibility and adaptability in both driving results and developing process strategies Strong written and oral communication skills Adaptability to work in a dynamic and cross- functional environment, with strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to problem-solve, troubleshoot, and work independently

Preferred:

Interest in digital publishing techniques and experience with publication tools, including implementing or developing Content Management Systems (CMS) Familiarity with American Express products and operations Experience in the payments industry Multinational and global collaboration experience
