The Paralegal assists with conducting legal research (e.g., due diligence, case and factual research, responding to queries and investigations, and preparing summary reports) to support the organization's law and regulatory initiatives and/or matters. Working under close supervision, this job drafts legal documents (e.g., contracts, agreements, legal pleadings, and business communications) and ensures accuracy and completeness. This job also assists with maintaining files, databases and systems to collect, store, and reviews data on litigation, agreements, opinions, and other legal documents.

In this role, the individual will have the opportunity to support the MEL Operations Team, which involves supporting legal entity reporting review process; managing legal entity system; maintaining regulatory-related documents (details provided below).

Key Duties & Responsibilities: 

Support legal entity reporting process, including but not limited to, following up, as necessary, to close gaps in missing information and documents; reconciling reports; reviewing documents; and tracking receipt of documentsDocument review/uploads and execute data entry to legal entity management databaseSupport legal entity management-related projectsHandle various MEL operations support requestsConduct system reconciliation for legal entity managementReview and understand organizational documents and consents, including certificates of incorporation, by-laws, charters and operating agreements of various jurisdictions, as requiredEnsure the accurate maintenance of corporate records and assist with the timely submission of regulatory filingsDocument procedures for the processes that you support and report on compliance with those proceduresProvide operational advice/support to Regulatory Reporting, Accounting, Tax, Treasury, Risk & Compliance and Law & Policy teams

Skills Required

Graduate or Postgraduate with at least 3-5 years of experience in a similar role;Experience with multi-national companies, especially in the financial services industry preferred;Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills;Ability to work in a challenging environment and meet significant deadlines consistently;Methodical attention to detail and accuracy, analytical, result oriented & problem solver with strong work ethics;Confident, professional manner, team player with excellent collaborative and organizational skills;Flexibility to work during Eastern Standard Time, as necessary

Functional Knowledge Required

Prior working experience of any legal entity management system (GEMS, CSC or similar)Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook;
