POSITION OVERVIEW
The LNG Market Research Analyst will report to the Director of Global LNG Market Fundamentals and will be responsible for analyzing global industry trends with a focus on international markets. The Analyst will be responsible for helping the LNG Strategy team develop scenario analyses and forecasts and provide insights to support the commercial group and Cheniere’s activities in general. Duties will include collecting data, monitoring the media, developing, and maintaining databases, conducting ad-hoc qualitative and quantitative research, and producing written reports and presentations, liaising with Cheniere’s originators to capture market information and provide market insight and analysis.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Monitor industry developments plus various natural gas markets, including supply and demand indicators, competitor plans, regulatory developments, and prices. Apply qualitative and quantitative techniques to interpret data, formulate reports and identify market trends. Assist in gathering data and maintaining databases related to the international LNG markets and LNG business. Assist in building company views and market outlooks. Collaborate with a variety of stakeholders and business units to capture market information and support research and planning objectives. Prepare and distribute graphic representations of data and analytical briefs. Update and curate presentation materials for incorporation in quarterly earnings and board material The duties and responsibilities described are not a comprehensive list and additional tasks may be assigned to the employee from time to time; or the scope of the job may change as necessitated by business demands.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Knowledge:
The candidate should have a general understanding of the global natural gas market and the global LNG market and trade patterns. Knowledge of key drivers that impact regional gas market balances, including pricing dynamics. Knowledge of the industry’s competitive landscape, major LNG players and their portfolios Knowledge of business and economic principles Knowledge of Python desired
Skills:
Possess the ability to conduct timely ad hoc research to support commercial decision-making as well as progress long-term research, develop models, and/or generate reports. Strong modeling skills and exceptional communication skills Strong critical analysis and brainstorming abilities Organized and able to manage multiple activities and programs timely and with a high degree of accuracy. Must be resourceful, focused, determined, and a self-starter with a proven ability to gather, synthesize, analyze and disseminate information. Detail oriented and effective time management and organizational skills. Must have advanced computer knowledge in MS Office (Excel, Word, and Power Point), and the ability to learn new software or applications.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education and Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in economics, Political Science, Library Sciences or related field is required.
Experience: Must have relevant years of experience in the energy industry, specifically related to natural gas and LNG markets.
Analyst – minimum of two (2) years of experience Senior Analyst – minimum of five (5) years of experience

WORK CONDITIONS
Job is performed in a typical office environment, but is subject to time pressures and constraints, and is often dependent on input from others. Occasionally, work may be performed from home, after normal work hours or on weekends. May be required to work overtime. Required to travel as business conditions dictate.
