Summary
Facilitates the design, development, administration and implementation of compensation programs, policies, structures and practices. Provides expert consult to leadership and organization partners. Collects data, evaluates, analyzes, designs, implements, and administers all compensation programs. Develops documentation for compensation processes and procedures. Creates and updates job descriptions and evaluates jobs. Performs market research, analyzes data, and makes recommendations as to complex problems and job pricing. Assists with administration of most phases of the performance appraisal process. Prepares reports to assist with planning, job offers and equity decisions.
Responsibilities
+ Conducts data and cost analyses used in the creation of problem solving options.
+ Provides expert consult in the area of compensation, equity and job structure.
+ Facilitates the creation of creative ancillary pay programs or options.
+ Runs queries, develops and maintains tools to capture relevant HR metrics, which may include but is not limited to turn-over.
+ Develops effectiveness in the use of data visualization to turn complex data into simple and easy to understand narratives for senior business leaders and HR stakeholders.
+ Educates and communicates compensation practices and principles to partners within Human Resources and clients within the organization..
+ Prepares and maintains job descriptions that accurately reflect the work being performed by incumbents.
+ Interviews and surveys employees and managers to gather and document job, organizational, and occupational information including duties, responsibilities, and skills required by each job.
+ Assesses jobs and their respective duties to determine classification as exempt or nonexempt and appropriate salary range.
+ Benchmarks jobs against survey data and other market intelligence to determine competitive compensation ranges for each position.
+ Prepares and maintains job classifications and salary scales.
+ Prepares and presents summary reports of job analysis and compensation analysis information.
+ Gathers data from market-based compensation surveys; uses spreadsheet and data analysis techniques to assess results and market trends.
+ Evaluates and implements job analysis instruments and materials.
+ Advises management on applicable state and federal employment regulations, benefits and compensation policies, and human resource procedures.
+ May act as a mentor to junior team members.
+ Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements, Preferences and Experience
Education
Preferred: Master's degree in human resources, finance, accounting, or related field
Minimum: Bachelor's degree in human resources, finance, accounting or related field or equivalent relative experience in lieu of degree
Experience
Minimum: Four years of directly related compensation experience
Licensure, Registration, Certification
Preferred: CCP, or SPHR or SCP

+ Able to perform work with a high degree of latitude
+ Demonstrated expert knowledge in using Microsoft Excel including vlookups, pivot tables and formula generation.
+ Able to navigate and provide resolution options to the most complex issues
+ Extensive knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods
+ Extensive knowledge of human resource laws, regulations and best practices
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
+ Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
+ Solid working knowledge of other MS Office applications including Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
+ Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate potentially detailed and complex information to others
+ Ability to protect and maintain confidential and highly sensitive information with discretion and tact
+ Aptitude and willingness to work with complex procedures
+ Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
+ Ability to manage multiple priorities and adjust to changing priorities and deadlines in a professional manner
