We are looking for an enthusiastic Analytical & Sensory Services Manager to join our team at St James Gate Brewery.
About the site
St. James's Gate Brewery in Dublin is Diageo's largest manufacturing facility in Ireland, and the largest stout brewery in the world, producing over three million pints of Guinness every day, supplying a growing Irish, UK and US market, and exporting to 90 global markets. Our main beer brands are Guinness, Rockshore, Hop House 13, Smithwick's and Harp. We also brew Carlsberg and Tuborg under licence for the Irish market, as well as a range of newer products, most recently Guinness 0.0 The brewery is highly utilised placing a premium on plant and process reliability.
In late 2014 Diageo completed a €169 million investment creating an extraordinary brewing centre of excellence at St. James's Gate, which has increased the competitiveness of beer exports through our end-to-end global supply chain network. Given continued growing demand for our beers, Diageo committed a further 100 million to the Brewery last year, enabling our team to deliver increased volume, new innovations and replacing our Kegging facility.
About the role
The Analytical and Sensory Services Team, part of Diageo Beer Category at St James’s Gate, provides global technical leadership and support across more than 60 production sites worldwide, including both Diageo-owned and Third-Party Operation sites. We are seeking an Analytical and Sensory Services Manager to lead a highly skilled team of scientists dedicated to delivering global quality programs encompassing analytical, sensory, and food safety initiatives.
In this pivotal role, you will:
Define and implement strategies to enhance analytical capabilities and support the growing portfolio of products across emerging and established markets.Lead a team of scientists, protecting brand technical equity and driving quality improvements across Diageo’s beer, ready-to-drink (RTD), and mainstream spirit production.Handle laboratory budgets, contract negotiations, and external vendor relationships to deliver the overall quality agenda.Spearhead the digital transformation of global quality data, delivering innovative PBI dashboards and digital products aligned with Diageo's transformation strategy.Oversee key global programs, including Food Safety (GPIP), the Analytical Proficiency Scheme (BAPS), and the Taster Validation Scheme (TVS).Actively contribute to the global Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) working group and external advisory committees.About You

Experience and Skills
Qualification in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Food Science, or a related discipline.A consistent track record of technical or supply chain achievements across complex projects.Demonstratable laboratory experience.Manufacturing experience (brewing experience is desirable but not essential).Cross-functional experience in technical, operations, or product quality roles.Leadership experience in managing and developing teams.Proficiency with LIMS systems, data visualisation, and statistical processing.Awareness of Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and risk management.Strong communication and interpersonal skills to influence stakeholders across the organisation.High energy, a strong work ethic, and a collaborative team-player mindset.Key Capabilities
