Analytical Chemist, Product Integrity Analysis Lab

Job Summary

Performs the analytical evaluation of raw material, intermediate and finished products, making pass / fail decision. Makes risk analysis and usage decision of non-conformances. Provides technical assistance for internal and external customers. Generates analytical documentation. Reports to the Manager PIA.

Responsibilities:

Conduct daily analyses, utilizing and maintaining sophisticated analytical equipment (TQ)GC-MS, (TQ)LC-MS and ICP-MS; timely reporting of results

Make risk analysis and usage decisions of nonconformance's

Preventive and corrective equipment maintenance to ensure competence of equipment

Administration, planning and prioritization of incoming work

Advise for quality efficiency enhancements within analysis protocols and processes

Job Requirements:

Education / Experience

Degree in Chemistry, Biology or equivalent

3-5 Years applying analytical skills in food/flavor/pharma or fragrance industry

Experience in the field of GCMS, LCMS and/or ICPMS equipment

Knowledge of Industry & Regulation

English fluency to interact with other IFF affiliate sites.

Solid knowledge & Experience in Quality Control with a total understanding of analytical chemistry.

Mature ability to maintain GCMS, LCMS & ICPMS equipment, including preventive maintenance ensuring trouble-free operation and competence

SAP advanced knowledge QM module

Quality Quality Best Practice

Good knowledge of GMP, HACCP, ISO standards, regulatory affairs and critical control points

Familiar with allergens and contaminants declaration process

Computer skills; Excel, Word

Project Management Skill

Understanding of project people and Management knowledge

Supply Chain Management

Have a deep understanding of supply chain management

Leadership & Decision making

Decision-making based on the test results; Performs checks and controls to assess validity of results

Has some latitude when it comes to making decisions on assigned projects
