Position Summary The Analytical Lab Technician executes routine and non-routine analytical testing, experiments, and tasks to support R&D product design, improvements, and material quality. This person works within a self-directed team of Technicians and Technologists to independently resolve requests for testing which are generated by Product Design Engineers and Scientists. Responsibilities Executing Tests Perform routine and non-routine analytical testing using both basic and advanced laboratory techniques Practice proper safety procedures and reports unsafe acts or conditions when executing tests Planning Experiments Plan and execute routine and non-routine testing, experiments, and tasks Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities Develop methods for new experiments or tests and documents methods appropriately Build and maintain experiments and testing work schedules to meet business needs Provide insight and feedback to engineers on testing strategy and potential test issues Data Capture and Reporting Collect, record, and transcribe routine and non-routine data Perform routine and non-routine calculations; creates routine and non-routine tables, charts and graphs Create reports that summarize data in technical report format and analyzes for exception Escalate and communicate exceptions and issues to appropriate levels efficiently What we are looking for 1-2 years of pertinent college coursework in Chemistry, or equivalent experience/education, with a full understanding and practical working knowledge of organic and inorganic chemistry 2+ years of demonstrated related experience in a technical laboratory or similar environment Fundamental understanding of higher-level mathematics, mechanics, and laboratory practices Strong working knowledge of Microsoft office applications Ability to perform repetitive manual tasks requiring the use of hands, standing for extended periods of time, and lifting up to 35 lbs. Exposure to health risks or conditions may require the use of Personal Protective Equipment, including the potential use of a respirator What we prefer (not required) Bachelor's in Chemistry (or similar) with full understanding and practical working knowledge of chemistry and electrochemistry principles Come join us!
