Focus: This position plays a crucial role in supporting manufacturing operations by directly engaging with plant clients to understand their specific analytical needs. In your role as an Analytical Technician, you will conduct both routine and non-routine laboratory analyses, employ complex methodologies and evaluate results using statistical tools to ensure the highest quality data is delivered to both clients and customers. You will be responsible for monitoring analytical system performance using data systems, identifying areas for improvement and implementing modifications to meet evolving requirements. The role includes performing calibrations and preventive maintenance on analytical equipment and methods, as well as overseeing the installation and qualification of new equipment and methods. 

Analytical Technician Essential Functions:

Performs calibrations and preventative maintenance on analytical instruments. Manages the sample submission process for all routine and non-routine samples. Lead the installation and qualification of new instruments. Performs in-depth troubleshooting on analytical instruments, methods, and LIT (Lab Information Technology) and data handling systems (LIMS, etc.). Pulls in the Techcenter resources from the appropriate businesses when need to resolve issues in a timely manner. Monitors analytical systems, evaluates validity of data, applies statistics (SQC), interprets results, and takes appropriate action. Manages analytical workload and projects to ensure plant goals are met. Maintains certification schedules, quality documentation, and documents for laboratory instruments.  Lab focal point for all ISO-9001 and Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) Audits.

Analytical Technician Position Requirements:

Must meet one of the following education and experience requirements: High School diploma or equivalent plus 2+ years experience in an industrial lab environment. Associates Degree* in Science or equivalent with 20 hours college chemistry . Ability to work in a team environment as well as be individually responsible for completion of tasks and project. Working knowledge of Sample Manager (LIMS), IC, GC, ICP, titration, maintenance and troubleshooting preferred. Understanding of the theory, capabilities, limitations, and applications of the analytical instruments used on a routine basis; strong technical troubleshooting skills. Must be able to work call outs and overtime. Must possess a valid US driver's license. Prior Olin experience in a related position strongly preferred.
