Purpose:
The Analytics Data Integration Developer, Associate creates programming, data set infrastructure, and other technical processes to integrate healthcare data elements from disparate sources throughout the UPMC enterprise. This integration results in a layer of information that fuels health economics activities including strategic analysis, predictive modeling, and clinical program evaluation.
UPMC Health Plan is hiring a full-time Analytics Data Integration Developer, Associate for their Government Programs Operations Encounter Data Reporting Team. In this position, you will use knowledge and understanding of medical claims data, data systems, and Microsoft Power Platform to build tools to support team functions, build data dashboards to drive operational insight, and conduct analysis to optimize the performance of encounter data reporting functions.
This position is hybrid and will require travel into the office located in Downtown Pittsburgh based on business needs.
Responsibilities:
Adopt and promote best practices, tools, and methods set by team/department leadership/UPMC IT Center of Excellence.
Develop data extraction and integration processes to support analysis, Power apps, dashboards, and process monitoring.
Develop and maintain Power Apps for the Encounter Analyst team. This includes developing SQL programming to pull data, developing processes to load data and use the Power App working with other team members to create user documentation, and maintaining Power Apps/fixing bugs.
Develop and maintain dashboards using Power BI to monitor operational outcomes.
Maintain up-to-date information on the status and effort related to each project. Meet deadlines and turnaround times set by the supervisor. (These deadlines will, at times, require the employee to work until the project is completed, meaning extended daily work hours, extended work weeks, or both.)
Develop and maintain working relationships with internal UPMC Health Plan departments, and external contacts as appropriate.
Provide technical consultation and act as a reference point to peers, other business areas, senior leadership, and external customers. Assist with orientation and process-specific training of new staff members.
Advise peers about existing programming that may be relevant to current/upcoming projects or data requests.
Investigate data errors/variances and derive solutions with appropriate follow-up monitoring.
Perform validation and peer review of data sets created by fellow team members.
Make recommendations for optimal data extraction, manipulation, and integration methodologies based on research and analysis.
