The Analytics Developer, reporting to the Manager, Clinical Utilization, will be responsible to lead analytics development projects and business intelligence solutions   that provide business and clinical insights for clinical and business leadership. This role requires strong business intelligence, database development and data wrangling abilities. Ability to transform business requirements into technical deliverables and analytics products to drive data-driven decision making and ministry requirements. Key components of the job: requirements gathering; automation of reports and development of real-time and retrospective KPI tracking dashboards; ad-hoc reporting; data visualization; communication of analytical insights; and directing and coordinating information requests. As well as monitoring business intelligence tool to ensure data accuracy. This role will support the leadership team as well as physicians using business intelligence tools and processes.

 

 

What must you have?

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering and/or related STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) field.

 

What else do you bring?

Expertise in leveraging data visualization to communicate business and clinical insights.Minimum of 3 years experience in business intelligence, data science, or relevant field as well as SQL scripting.Minimum of 2 years demonstrated experience in analytical insights communication.Demonstrated experience in leading business intelligence development projects.Minimum of 3 years experience in one or more programming/statistical markup language (R, Python, SAS, Java, C/C+/C++).Strong abilities in Excel pivot tables required.Strong data visualization acumen and demonstrated experience working with BI and data visualization tools (Tableau, Qlik, Power BI, Alteryx). Strong ability to distill complex business problems into analytics solutions.Detail oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to deal with situations where information is difficult to obtain, complex, or ambiguous.Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.Demonstrated commitment to continuing education.Effectively uses empathy and respect in interactions with other.Proven attendance record.Demonstrates understanding and complies with patient and staff safety policies and procedures that foster a safe and inclusive environment for all.Ability to perform the essential duties of the job.Effectively uses empathy in interactions with others and demonstrates behaviours consistent with Mackenzie Health’s Commitment to Caring.Models behaviour that is aligned with the values of Mackenzie Health – Excellence, Leadership and Empathy.Commitment to providing an exceptional experience for staff and clients within a challenging and exciting health care environment.

 

Preferably, your profile also includes:

Master’s Degree2 years experience working in healthcare setting with a basic understanding of hospital patient flow / clinical workflow.Experience within a consulting role.Familiarity or Epic certification in Epic application or reporting modalities (Cogito / Caboodle) including SAP Crystal reports.Knowledge of hospital clinical databases (e.g. DAD,NACRS, CCRS, NRS, OMHRS, CCIS, WTIS, ERNI, etc.) and case mix systems (e.g. RUG/RWPD, RCG/RCW, SCIPP/SWPD, etc.).Experience with funding models (HBAM, MOH QBPs, CCO QBPs).Knowledge of MOH, CCO/ ORS and CIHI data submission and reporting tools.Knowledge and understanding of key health care performance measures (clinical, financial, utilization, efficiency) and balanced scorecards.
