Field Analytics & Insights (FAI) plays an advising role in helping Genentech achieve its goals and objectives through partnering with field teams and the functions that support them. FAI plays a critical role in enabling field teams with data, analytics, incentives, and tools teams need to effectively prioritize, plan, and manage their market and customer activities across the customer spectrum and life cycle of the products.
The Opportunity
In this role, you will be the point person for the Cross-Ecosystem Analytics capability within FAI, expanding and deepening our current expertise. You will couple business and technical experience, hands-on analytical skills, and strong influencing and thought leadership abilities to shape the analytics and technology vision and strategy for this capability, both within FAI and across the organization.
You will partner with many functions in Strategic Analytics & Intelligence and throughout Genentech (Squad, Marketing, US Medical Affairs, Operations, Finance, Legal, Compliance, etc.) and lead cross-functional teams to bring this vision to life. You will also guide systems, tools, and reporting support as required for effective pull through and execution of market and customer strategies and tactics leveraging this capability.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Continue to refine and evolve our Cross-Ecosystem Analytics strategy and analyses, innovating new standards to identify opportunities and barriers across Ecosystems
Serve as an analytics and insight advisor to the FAI Leadership Team
Continue to refine and evolve our Ecosystem Analytics dashboard, currently used regularly by 200+ people in the Field
Leverage novel analytics techniques and technology, while being proficient in automation and AI, to drive innovative solutions and enhance operational efficiency.
Work with the data and USIX teams to implement changes
Liaise between FAI, USIX and the data teams, representing FAI’s needs, communicating both issues and resolutions
May facilitate Community of Practice meetings, fostering an environment of best practice sharing and shaping what good looks like for the team
Collaborate with partner groups to deliver a holistic view of performance while considering a comprehensive view of the organization and portfolio
Contribute to and lead FAI department and function-wide initiatives as part of the extended leadership team
Look for opportunities for continuous improvement; engage managers and peer group regularly for coaching, assistance, and advocacy, and look for opportunities to act as a peer mentor
Take an enterprise mindset, linking individual responsibilities to the broader organization, focusing on outcomes that achieve the most business and patient value

Required Qualifications:
You Have a BS/BA degree with Science, Engineering, Mathematics/Statistics, Business, Healthcare (or a Degree Concentration in Healthcare Informatics preferred).
You have at least 10 years' work experience in management/strategy consulting, strategy or other analytical work in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare or other industries
Healthcare industry knowledge
Demonstrated track record of leading and influencing cross functional teams and Senior Leaders
Working knowledge of secondary data sources including claims data, population health analyses, longitudinal patient level data; experience with payer data is a plus.
Experience with statistical modeling, consolidating and synthesizing information from various inputs, and presenting results, impact and recommendations to non-technical and/or executive audiences.
Experience developing and using Excel-based models as well as other modeling and reporting platforms (e.g. R, SQL, SAS, Qlik, Tableau)
Business travel may be required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:MBA or advanced degree desired.
Experience with preferred analytical tools (e.g., R, SQL, SAS, etc.) and BI / reporting tools (e.g., Qlik)
Proficiency in programming languages (Python, R, Java, C++).
Expertise in analytical model development and implementation (Monte Carlo, Regression, Predictive) and deep understanding of model evaluation, tuning, and validation.
Experience with big data technologies.
Strong knowledge of AI, ML, and data science trends and advancements.
Experience in technology enablement and digital transformation projects.
Proven track record of deploying AI/ML solutions in production.
Strong analytical skills for deriving insights from complex datasets.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and associated AI/ML tools.
Proficiency in data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, matplotlib).
The role requires an on-site presence at our South San Francisco, CA Genentech Campus.
Relocation assistance is not offered on this role
The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of South San Francisco, CA is $164,400/yr to $305,400/yr. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
