for our customers’ travel experience. The role of Operations Analysis &
Performance (OAP) is to support this mission by providing strategic insights by
first understanding business processes and then leveraging data and analytics
to drive continuous improvement efforts.
The Analytics Leader will work closely with front-line
leaders to develop creative solutions to current business challenges. We are
looking for data curious candidates that seek to understand process and can
connect with our business partners to leverage data and drive improvement and
is able to take a project from end-to-end: gathering business requirements,
working with all contributors to the project, and delivering results to the
stakeholder without much oversight from a supervisor.
Data has transformed the way Delta operates and the
Operational Analytics team is the core of the data strategy. The team leverages
the data environment to deliver forward-looking insight to business leaders
through a variety of analytical techniques. You’ll be empowered to drive
innovative analyses using both structured and unstructured data, flagging
opportunity areas every step of the way.
Responsibilities:
+ Practicesafety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures
+ Havea team first attitude with the success of our team and business partners as thetop priority
+ Understandthe business operation and how the data is able to represent the performance orprocesses
+ Locateand extract data from a variety of sources for use in analysis, models, andproject development
+ Usedescriptive, diagnostic, and predictive analytical techniques to highlightbusiness challenges, potential solutions, and relevant tradeoffs
+ Leverageemerging technologies and identify efficient and meaningful ways to communicatedata and analysis in order to satisfy divisional needs
+ Developand improve automated reports, analyses, or dashboards to support seniordivisional leaders and the front-line employees
+ Beable to cater tools to each audience appropriately
+ Buildtrust with the business teams in order to be a useful thought partner
+ Supportprocess improvement and project management engagements for both individualbusiness units and cross-divisional initiatives
+ Presentfindings and recommendations to OAP and divisional leaders
+ Trainand mentor other team members in various skillsets and subjects
+ Beintellectually curious, ask questions and speak up when they have an idea
+ Beindependent workers who look for problems to solve, come up with innovativeideas, and drive implementation of solutions
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
+ 5+years of experience in analysis, information science, data visualization, orother relevant quantitative field preferred
+ Successfulcandidates will have familiarity and/or experience with some or all of thefollowing: SQL, SAS, R, Tableau or other database interface tools and languages
+ Strongexperience with Tableau and/or other data visualization tools
+ Abilityto write complex queries, joining data from multiple sources and working withlarge, messy datasets, to arrive at operational insights
+ Strongattention to detail and ability to work autonomously and manage multiplerequests with varying timelines
+ Abilityto thoughtfully engage and develop team members
+ Mustbe a strong team player, detail oriented, and perform well under pressure
+ Conveya professional image with ability to lead, manage, and communicate multiple levelswithin the organization
+ Strongself-starter with a resilient, solution minded approach to complex problems
+ Enjoyworking in a high-profile environment with fluid priorities, ambiguity, andaggressive deadlines
+ Mustbe comfortable working in group and individual settings
+ Consistentlyprioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
+ Embracesdiverse people, thinking, and styles.
+ Possessesa high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
Is at least 18 years of age
and has authorization to work in the United States.
