Job Description

We are looking for a specialist in Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager. Your core focus will be building reliable, scalable analytics implementations across both web and app environments, while helping clients understand the data architecture and value of clean, structured measurement.

Reporting to our Analytics Director, you will work with a team of implementation experts.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

Act as a subject matter expert on digital measurement, with a strong understanding of the Google Marketing Platform and broader digital ecosystemTranslate business needs into data structures, tagging frameworks, and measurement strategiesConfigure Google Analytics 4, including advanced features like custom events, enhanced e-commerce, and cross-domain trackingImplement, configure, and debug Google Tag Manager (Web & App) taggingDesign and deliver tracking taxonomies, plans, and implementation guidesTroubleshoot GA4 and GTM issues using DebugView, GTM preview mode, browser dev tools, etc.Test and validate all tracking implementations before handoffLead client conversations, walkthroughs, and solution presentationsEnsure high standards of data quality and documentation across all projects

Qualifications5+ years of hands-on experience with Google Analytics (UA & GA4) and Google Tag Manager (Web & App)Strong understanding of data layers, event structures, custom dimensions, and metricsExperience with Firebase and mobile SDK taggingSolid knowledge of server-side tagging (sGTM), hands-on experience is a bonus, deep understanding is requiredDemonstrated experience in debugging and resolving implementation issuesClear, client-friendly communicator with strong presentation and stakeholder management skillsComfortable managing multiple projects across global clients and fast-paced environments

Advantageous

Familiarity with Measurement Protocol, BigQuery, and querying structured datasetsExperience working in an agency or consulting environmentExposure to mobile attribution tools like Adjust, AppsFlyer, or BranchAwareness of privacy regulations like GDPR and POPIA, and how they impact data collectionNote: We emphasise skills, expertise and behavioural attributes over years of experience and traditional degrees.
