About us

 

We are looking for an experienced remote Anatomic Pathologist to join our growing team within our state-of-the-art Laboratory at Dick White Referrals (DWR) Referral Hospital. The primary purpose of this role is to produce high quality histopathology reports to the Antech laboratory customer base in line with expected daily requirements and standards, working alongside the pathology team, submitting clinicians and wider laboratory staff.

 

As our laboratory is located within the busy hospital at DWR, lots of our work is from referred patients in house. We also receive samples through other referral hospitals across the UK, along with first opinion samples which provides us with a varied and interesting workload. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a wider clinical team of Anatomic and Clinical Pathologists as we move forward under Antech Diagnostics, part of Mars Science and Diagnostics, together making a better world for pets.

 

This is a full time position that we are able to offer as remote working, we will consider applicants from the UK.

 

Primary duties include:

Produce high quality histopathology reports in line with agreed daily quotas, including reporting of adjunctive tests such as histochemical stains, PARR clonality testing and immunohistochemistry.

Liaise directly with clinicians regarding histopathology sampling and reports.

Participate in internal discussion and rounds within the pathology team.

Provision of support and training to the histology laboratory team, including development of SOP’s, guidance on trimming complex samples and internal QA/QC.

Ensuring professional standards are met by fulfilling CPD requirements.

Contribution to research projects, teaching rounds, education, business development and marketing activities with the purpose of maintaining and enhancing the laboratory service as agreed by the Director of Pathology – Europe.

 

Requirements

Recognised degree in Veterinary Medicine and MRCVS registration.

Board certification by ACVP/ECVP or RCPath (preferred) or board eligible.

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a diagnostic laboratory setting preferred.

Experience or willingness to use digital pathology viewing and reporting platforms.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, in a timely manner with attention to detail.

Experience using Dragon dictation software and Microsoft office platforms.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
