Job Summary/Description:
WVVA Television in Bluefield, WV, a Gray Local Media station, is looking for a driven journalist for the role of morning anchor/producer.
In this exciting position you will be responsible for co-anchoring and producing the area’s dominant morning 2-hour newscast. We are looking for an energetic “morning person” to create an experience for our viewers to start their day! We are looking for a candidate to produce an engaging and entertaining show, not simply write and organize news. This person will have strong writing skills and the ability to deliver breaking news under tight deadlines. Dependability and flexibility is a must.

Duties - (include but not limited to):
• Co-anchor morning show.
• Produce 2-hour newscast.
• Strong presentation skills on all platforms.
• Strong writing skills with the ability to create hard hitting content.
• Work collaboratively under pressure.
• Team oriented.
• Proven leadership skills.
• Excellent news judgement.
• Professional knowledge of news operations.
Qualifications/Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field preferred.
• 1-2 years of anchor experience preferred.
• Exceptional news judgment.
• Professional knowledge of broadcast news operations a plus.
• Knowledge of ENPS and Edius preferred.
• Must pass driver’s records check.
