Android Developer (Onsite)

Cognizant is looking for an expert top-notch Android developer to grow with our dev team! As an Android Developer, should have experience of working within a financial organization and display an understanding and appreciation for the complexities therein. Experience with digital platforms, distributed systems, and Cloud technologies is also critical.

Experience within a constantly evolving environment that influences the banking experience for clients and employees, including driving consistent frameworks and methodologies to support consistency is critical for this role. Attention to detail and an ability to convey relevant information at summary and detailed levels are key factors to success in this role. Requires experience in both waterfall and agile methodologies.

Location: Richmond or McLean VA.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Develop Android client code solutions that deliver on Product Strategy and adhere to established engineering standard methodologies, design guidelines and principles Partner with Software Engineers, UX/UI, Quality Engineers, Product Owners/Analysts to deliver high performing quality customer experiences that are engaging, purposeful and powerful in their simplicity Actively participate in all team agile ceremonies, contributing to ensure that all team commitments are delivered on time and of the highest quality Remain an active learner in all technologies related to mobile development (Kotlin, Swift 3rd party libraries, etc.) Influence and contribute to group discussions and incorporate feedback/communication from the broader team Actively engage with developers outside of the local sprint team across various subject areas (Android, , APIs, Web, etc.) Own and lead delivery of major components and platform needs in partnership with senior engineers and Architects Consistently share standard methodologies and improve processes within and across sprint teams Identify technical obstacles early and work closely with the team to find creative solutions Review pull requests and ensure consistency to Kotlin and other language idioms Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree At least 7 years of experience in software engineering At least 5 years of experience building Android applications At least 3 years of experience with Kotlin

The Salary rate for this position is between $81,337K – 141,500K, depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
