Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Anesthesia Tech II, per diem.

In this role, the successful candidate Responsible for stocking anesthetic supplies for ORs maintaining anesthetic equipment ensuring anesthetic equipment is available and assisting clinicians with patient care

Job Responsibilities:

Clinical/ Patient Care

Provides assistance to all anesthesia clinicians:

During induction maintenance and emergence from anesthesiaWith the placement of regional anesthetics and invasive monitoring devices Provides medication to providerRetrieves and returns drugs to drug delivery system

With pain blocks epidurals spinals line placement and patient positioning With transporting patientsFollows directives and protocols Communicates with circulating nurses Responds to codes within the limitations of the above duties

Equipment

Calibrates and runs Quality Control and Quality Assurance analysisCalibrates and trouble shoots anesthesia machinesSets up Level I RIS syringe pumps capnographs TEG and TEEsSets up intravenous central venous arterial pulmonary artery catheters using sterile techniques percutaneous introducer kits double lumen kits triple lumen kits long arm CVP kits chest tubes ARNDT blockers univent tubes trans tracheal intubations fiberoptic scopes LMAs tube changers jet ventilation and resuscitation bags Clears debris and equipment from the surface and drawers of used anesthesia machinesInsures the sterility and cleanliness of all machinesPerforms all standard procedural checks on equipment Assists with trouble shooting technical problems Makes minor repairs and adjustments to equipmentInforms Engineering and supervisor of needed repairs

Supplies

Checks machine drawers to insure they are well stockedMakes available fluids Lactated Ringers Plasma Lite Normal Saline Hespan Flextend FFP Whole Blood and AlbuminDisposes of supplies used in regular and contaminated cases

Gases

Insures medical pipeline is operational including N2O O2 and Medical AirChecks the status of nitrous oxide nitrogen and carbon dioxide cylinder banks to determine available supply pressureReplaces empty cylinders

Other

Assists with the training of Anesthesia TechniciansApprises supervisor of performance of Anesthesia TechniciansEnsures workroom areas are clean and orderly before during and after each shiftPerforms other related duties as requested

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Associates Degree or certifications from ASATT or ATA Two years of work experience in a periop area or related field Familiarity with Operating Room drug and equipment terminology required Must be able to read write follow instructions Lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs Basic computer skills

Preferred Qualifications:
ASATT Certification preferred Bachelors Degree

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $36.63 - $37.20 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
