Job Overview:
Assembles supplies and equipment needed in all procedure areas. Manages inventory, ordering, and stocking of anesthesia supplies. Prepares medications, intravenous solutions, and transducers. Assists in the transportation of patients, induction of anesthesia and introduction of lines, and performs output tests under the supervision of the anesthesiologist. Cleans anesthesia equipment daily, and calibrates machinery. Acts as a liaison between Physician, Anesthesia Coordinator and OR Director. Attends pertinent in-service programs.

High School diploma or equivalentSuccessful completion of Anesthesia Technician programAbility to type medical documents accurately and efficientlyBasic knowledge of aseptic techniques and hospital supplies

Full Time40 hours/weekEssential Functions:
Acts as a liaison between the physician and the clinical OR Director.Assists in positioning patients.Assists with the induction of anesthesia and introductions of lines, and performs output tests under supervision of Anesthesiologist. Assist in setting up special line placement. Be able to choose appropriate lines.Be competent in assisting of handling patients with malignant hypothermia.Be competent in knowledge of patients with Latex allergies and special needs patients.Be competent in setting up TEE Scopes and processing, rapid fusion devices, blood warmers, patient warming devices and neuro muscular devices.Be knowledgeable of Joint Commission Safety Goals and MSDS.Be knowledgeable of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, drug reactions/drug usage, and sterile technique.Be knowledgeable of: (a) Blood transfusions; (b) I-Stat; (c) Blood Gas; (d) Gas Wastage System; (e) Laser Safety.Be proficient with adult, geriatrics and pediatric.Changes anesthesia circuits and suction canisters several times per day in each room after every case.Cleans and maintains anesthesia equipment and machines. Supplies equipment to anesthesia locations daily. Calibrate all anesthesia machines daily.Draws blood samples and assists in the transportation of patients.Must be proficient and knowledgeable with the following units: (a) Labor and Delivery; (b) Cath Lab; (c) IR; (d) MRI; (e) CT; (f) Open Heart; (g) GI Endo/Bronchoscopy; (h) Neuro procedures.Prepares medications, intravenous solutions, and transducers as directed.Properly disposes of used supplies, equipment, syringes, and needles.Remains knowledgeable in regards to Anesthesia supplies and equipment, and location of back-up supplies. Troubleshoot all anesthesia equipment. Work with medical vendors when needing loaners/repairs.Responds to emergency calls for airway help. Brings airway care and supplies to anesthesizing location and provide assistance until the patient emergency is resolved.Reviews inventory, stocks and orders supplies. Check computer monitors and computers each day.Be proficient in biological hazard fluids, infection control and OSHA regulations.Benefits and Perks:
