Atlantic Health System is seeking a Full-Time Anesthesia Technician for anesthesiology department at Morristown Medical Center to work 6:30AM-2:30PM including on-call and weekends (as needed). 

Essential Function/Responsibilities:

Provides anesthesia technician services to patients under direct supervision of a licensed anesthesia care provider. Perform duties under direct supervision of a licensed anesthesia provider. Provides support for routine surgical cases by assisting in the preparation and maintenance of patient equipment and anesthesia delivery systems before, during and after anesthesia. Performs first level maintenance on anesthesia equipment. Clean, sterilize, disinfects, stocks, orders and maintains the routine anesthesia equipment and supplies. Maintains anesthesia medications, supplies and equipment's according to the needs and schedules. Prepares and maintains patient monitoring devices and anesthesia delivery systems pre, intra and post anesthesia and with consideration and knowledge of age-specific issues related to meeting the needs of the various patient groups. Performs basic troubleshooting for monitors and equipment's and reports defects or malfunctions in equipment's appropriately/immediately. Maintains established departmental policies, procedures, quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection control standards. Documents and maintains preventative maintenance and quality records. Assists with transportation of patients and laboratory specimens as necessary. Participates in multidisciplinary rounds/meetings as needed. Performs other related duties as assigned.
 

Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent required. Graduate from an approved ASATT school preferred. American Heart Association CPR certification required. To provide a safe environment to our patients, we require that all candidates must be able to read, write and speak English. BLS certification required.

Relevant Experience:

2 years of healthcare experience as Anesthesia Technician preferred.

License/Certification:

Certification from American Society of Anesthesia Technicians and Technologist school preferred.
