Position Objective:
The Anestheisa Technologist will report to the Anesthesia Team Coordinator and Team Lead under the supervision of the unit Clinical Director.
The Anesthesia Technologist will independently maintain and organize the anesthesia work space, equipment, and supplies.
The AT, under supervision, will assist the Anesthesia provider, in multiple hospital locations, in preparation and performance of a variety of anesthesia functions.

1.) The Anesthesia Technologist will prepare the anesthesia machines for use by performing daily quality checks and ensuring optimal anesthesia machine function.
2.) Demonstrates detailed technical knowledge of anesthesia equipment systems for troubleshooting and maintenance.
3.) Sets up anesthesia machine and maintains all anesthesia equipment, instruments and supplies, before, during and after the procedure, according to par levels.
4.) Prepares for induction of anesthesia by placing non-invasive monitors (BP cuff, ECG leads and Pulse Oximeter) at request of provider and is prepared to provide support and anticipate needs during induction and emergence of anesthesia.
5.) Assists in sterile and aseptic preparation for placement of invasive lines or devices, under supervision. After placement of invasive lines or devices, cleans and disposes of used items in appropriate trash receptacle, or prepares items for processing following standard operating room procedure.
6.) Demonstrates knowledge of aseptic technique by preparing and maintaining sterility during invasive procedures.
7.) Anticipates needs for invasive monitoring by having appropriate equipment in operating room prior to procedure, or upon request of anesthesia provider.
8.) Differentiates and anticipates the supplies and equipment needed during emergent situations and for specific patient populations (peds, geriatric, etc.) including but not limited to difficult airway, cardiac arrest, fire, malignant hyperthermia and blood administration.
9.) Maintains knowledge and follows patient and personal safety procedures policies and national standards related to infection control, fire safety, electrical or chemical hazards.
10.)The Anesthesia Technologist will work to ensure the delivery of safe patient care within their scope of practice and participate in a positive and professional work environment.
Education/Experience Requirements:
Required Minimum Education
Associates degree or equivalentSuccessful completion of accredited Anesthesia Technician Program.Preferred Experience
Cardiac OR experience highly preferred 2 years experience as Anesthesia TechnologistRequired License/Certifications:
American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLSACLS required within 6 months of hire.Certification by the American Association of Anesthesia Technicians and Technologists (ASATT)Working Conditions, Equipment, Physical Demands:

Physical Requirements:
Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
