Annealing Operator

Position Title: Furnace Operator I   FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Reports To: Supervisor,  Annealing  Grade: CH FAC 1  Job Summary and Primary Functions  

 

The Furnace Operator  is responsible for loading or unloading the furnace to maintain product flow, assisting in rework, general housekeeping, and basic furnace troubleshooting in the Annealing department.

  Minimum Qualifications  

 

Ability to learn load end skills including loading laminations into metal trays and following load pattern documents Ability to learn unload end skills including pack the stacks into shipping boxes as defined in the Packaging instructions for that particular part  Ability to learn to lightly strike the steel stack against the steel table to ensure the individual laminations are not stuck to each other  Ability to consistently operates the furnace in a timely and safe manner Assist with rework, housekeeping and basic furnace maintenance tasks Perform other duties as assigned Basic Math Skills

 

  Preferred Qualifications  

 

Familiarity with ERP system (Oracle Preferred) High School Diploma or Equivalent Forklift operator certification

 

  Work Environment and Physical Demands   The Annealing department is a hot work environment with temperatures > 100˚F. Furnace maintenance will require work in a dirty and greasy environment. Employee is expected to be on the shop floor for most of the shift which could require them to stand for a good portion of the day. Must be able to load and unload parts/trays which can weigh up to 50 lbs.
