AODA Counselor Casual

The AODA Counselor in Amery Hospital & Clinic's Programs for Change will facilitate treatment environments for patients to obtain the knowledge and tools necessary to complete all aspects of intensive outpatient, outpatient, and continuing care treatment plans and individual goals of treatment. This includes, but is not limited to the following duties:

Gathers and analyzes patient information to form meaningful, clear and obtainable treatment goals. Coordinates the care and progress of patients in accordance with best practices, safety, and well-being of the patients and group members. Networks within the chemical health industry to develop resources and contacts for appropriate referral of patients. Maintains accurate and timely patient records. Develops clear treatment plans with updates that reflect patient’s progress and ongoing needs. Completes progress notes including progress of patient toward treatment goals, case management and as an item of closure in patient’s final treatment session. Attends staff meetings and participate in consultations, in-services, and clinical reviews as scheduled. Prepares for clinical supervision and documents results of clinical supervision sessions.  Demonstrates knowledge of the Steps, Traditions, and Principles of self-help groups within the community.

Work Schedule:

Casual, day and evening hours as department needs arise.

Required Qualifications:

Associate’s degree in Substance Abuse Counseling (SAC). Wisconsin license as a Substance Abuse Counselor – In Training (SACIT), Substance Abuse Counselor (SAC), or Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC).

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Substance Abuse Counseling (SAC). Two years’ experience as a Treatment Counselor preferred. License as a SAC or CSAC preferred. Experience in EPIC computer system.
