Aon Industrial Placement Programme - Marketing and Communications 2025

Your role on the Marketing and Communications Placement Join Aon and spend 12 months discovering the wide range of roles that exist within our team. Working in an innovative and energetic environment, no two days are the same. You’ll gain hands-on experience in the wide number of roles, from Internal Communications and Media Relations to Campaigns, Insights, Brand and Events. What your day could look like + Working with a Campaign Activation Manager to brief Aon’s digital agency on a demand program which includes paid LinkedIn, Facebook, Google Search and content syndication + Meeting with business partners to understand their growth priorities + Playing an active part in delivering an Aon event attended by 100 clients + Supporting a Campaign Manager to plan a marketing campaign and map the customer journey + Communicating to more than 6000 employees in the UK + Working alongside our Media Relations team and PR agencies to develop press releases and field media enquiries Work is varied, and as a team which supports clients, there are occasions when working in the evenings or staying overnight near our offices is required. Your Development During our Industrial placement programme, you will be enrolled onto our award-winning development programme, where over the 12 months, you will have the opportunity to take part in a wide range of insightful and interactive training and development activities in addition to your role. Here are couple of key elements of our development programme: + Business learning – on the job learning and experiences enabling you to develop your knowledge and understanding of your team and solution line. + Centralised learning - UK graduates complete in an Aon Induction, monthly webinars, business skills training and workshops; all designed to develop your knowledge of Aon, build your confidence and your network across our business. + Feedback – when you begin your Aon placement, you will have time with your line manager to discuss your goals and over your 12-month programme you will receive feedback and support. Your career beyond your Programme Once you’ve completed the formal Industrial Placement Programme, depending on your performance and business need, you may be offered a role on our graduate programme for the following year. When you return, you’ll be part of our Launch development programme where we’ll fully support your study towards your professional qualification. As a new early career colleague, you will spend the first 6 months based in the office to support your learning, development, and progression. This will enable you access to support from managers, collaborate with colleagues as well as grow your network across Aon. After completing this initial training period, you will then have the opportunity to work more flexibly, spending at least 3 to 4 days face to face in the Aon office or with clients. Due to the nature of the work, there will be occasions where you will be required to travel in the UK and work outside of your normal working hours to support with events or projects.
