Your role as a Commercial Risk - Strategic Consulting graduate: Join Aon as a Commercial Risk Strategic Consulting intern and from day one you’ll be integral to our Strategic Consulting team — helping our clients navigate an ever-evolving market to drive profit, growth and results. Strategic Consulting: Strategy Consulting, part of Aon’s Strategy and Technology Group (STG), works with (re)insurers, private equity firms, and other entities interested in the (re)insurance sector to deliver advice and strategic insights to senior leaders within the industry’s most prestigious companies. With our singular industry focus, privileged access to Aon’s proprietary data and its global network of (re)insurance industry experts, Strategy Consulting offers clients unparalleled access to unique and compelling insights unlike any other consultancy. As a Strategy Consulting Intern, you’ll become part of our expert team who develop strategic recommendations for our clients’ most important business problems. You will be working on fast-paced, complex projects with a team of 2-4 Strategy Consulting colleagues. Learning and development is a focus, with instruction in core consulting skills as well as (re)insurance industry knowledge through tailored training sessions and purposeful work experiences. What your day will look like: Working as part of a team that delivers high value strategic projects to insurers, re-insurers, and investors in the insurance industry on wide ranging strategic questions. Undertaking market and primary research, financial and data analysis that informs the development of recommendations Supporting the team in developing hypotheses, testing those hypotheses, and developing strategic recommendations Contributing to the production of high impact client deliverables. About you: You have had outstanding academic achievements You have led / participated in extracurricular activities / hobbies You will be able to demonstrate an aptitude for effective problem solving and analytical skills in a professional or academic context. You have strong business writing skills gained through both work experience and relevant coursework You are considered a team player and seek to contribute in ways aligned to your strengths and development areas. You are committed to personal development and recognise its importance in your career You have a desire to contribute to the development of growing strategy consultancy business Your Development As an Aon Summer Intern, you will be enrolled onto our award-winning development programme. For 9 weeks you will have the opportunity to take part in a wide range of insightful and interactive training and development activities in addition to your role. Here are couple of key elements of our intern’s 9-week development programme: Induction – a great way for you to learn about Aon and our Story, meet and network with your fellow interns and Aon colleagues from across our business including senior leaders; technical and business training to equip you with skills and knowledge to help you in your role Aon Business focused project – our interns are given a project to complete during the programme. You and your team of fellow interns will be tasked to research and help to find solutions for a real business challenge. At the end of the internship, you will have the chance to present your findings to a panel of Aon colleagues Feedback – when you start as an intern at Aon, you will have time with your line manager to discuss your goals and throughout your internship you will receive feedback and support. Your career beyond your Summer Internship Once you’ve completed the formal summer internship programme, depending on your performance, you may be offered a role on our graduate programme for the following year. When you return, you’ll be part of our Launch development programme where we’ll fully support your study towards your professional qualification. Motivation and ambition – you will need to be able to articulate why you want to join the Commercial Risk Strategic Consulting programme Commercial awareness – this helps us to provide support and advice to our clients with clarity and confidence Ability to build relationships, understand strategy and work collaboratively to develop solutions for our clients Locations: Here are the locations where we have graduate opportunities this year: London We recognise the value for our Early Career colleagues of being in the office environment from the beginning of their programme. As a new intern, you will spend your 9 weeks in the Aon office or with clients. If you join us as a graduate, after your internship, you will spend the first 6 months based in the office to support your learning, development, and progression. This will enable you access to support from managers, collaborate with colleagues as well as grow your network across Aon. After completing this initial training period, you will then have the opportunity to work more flexibly, spending at least 3 to 4 days face to face in the Aon office or with clients.
