Overall Role Description

This individual would provide occupational safety expertise and technical support to manufacturing sites, non-operating facilities, and capital project teams to ensure facilities, employees and businesses are safe in the Asia Pacific region.   This individual will be a key member of the Global People Safety Competency.

Key ResponsibilitiesProvide interpretations and consultation to assist implementation through plant EHS in plants, laboratories and businesses/manufacturing technology areas based upon regulatory requirements, company policy and standards and workplace evaluations.Interact with Regulatory agencies as required.Complete data management and analysis - communicate EHS KPIs (leading/lagging).Hands-on, in-plant work with operators, mechanics, contractors, and technical staff to improve safety performance.Provide support and consultation for High Risk Activity (HRA) Management.Provide recognition, coaching, collaboration, and training. Develop and facilitate training programs (behavioral based, hazard recognition, etc.)Assist sites with first party audit programs.Conduct safety and contractor safety assessment or audits.Lead regional people safety networking.Conduct and support incident investigations.Own and develop EHS standards, procedures and policies.Participate and lead contract manufacturing audits.Interact with sites to assist with machine safety programs.Identify and develop opportunities for EHS continuous improvement at sites and facilities.Collaboratively work with site EHS resources and other competenciesImproving safety culture of both operations and non-operations facilities.Actively support Businesses and Corporate Functions

Required Qualifications - Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Bachelor’s degree in safety or a related fieldThree to five years EHS experiences preferably in a leadership role.Contractor Safety or Contract Management experience a plus.Solid understanding of and/or ability to interpret Corporate, Business, and Regulatory requirements and ability to work collaboratively with subject matter experts.Demonstrated EHS functional/technical expertise with strong knowledge of safe work practices, auditing, record keeping, and incident investigation.Demonstrated strong data management and analytical skills.Strong project management, organization, and prioritization skills.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Experience with organizational culture change/development.Ability to train, coach, and mentor others.Strong leadership skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Additional Information

Travel (20-35%) is required, occasionally on short notice.
