AP Specialist

SUMMARY

The AP Specialist serves as a key resource in the revenue cycle and billing department for all Utility Billing clients on the SimpleBills platform. This role is pivotal to the entire Invoice Processing cycle for clients and is responsible for ensuring both timely and accurate daily financial transactions that include but are not limited to researching invoices and payments, making emergency payments, reconciling transactions and researching any questions or issues tied to SimpleBill’s banking activity and overall supporting the Bill Pay team to ensure accurate, timely invoice payments.

This SimpleBills Invoice Processor possesses strong research skills, ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects but equally important, this individual leads through personal values consistent with SimpleBill’s operating values. They will have a successful history handling high transaction volume, problem solving, provider outreach and interaction, strong attention to detail and accuracy. This position requires a high degree of integrity and teamwork demonstrated by delivering high quality commitments on time.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties of this position include but are not limited to the following:

Process utility bill payments Reconciles payments with internal database Communicates with utility providers and team members Research and analyze process and data to resolve issues, identify and select alternatives to address outstanding issues, and work with management to implement solutions for improvement Support Account Management, Invoice Processing, Client Support, and other internal departments in resolving issues. Cultivate internal relationships to gain new knowledge and competencies

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with accounts payable  Ability to work independently, achieve tight deadlines and take initiative on multiple projects. Highly process-oriented and able to define new procedures as the needs of the business evolve. Strong organizational ability and strong attention to accuracy and detail; must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously Must be a self-managing, motivated individual and have the ability to work in a deadline driven environment. Excellent communication skills, ability to interact with numerous departments, financial institutions and clients as needed
