The APAC Cell Culture Sales Specialist is primarily responsible for promoting long term business opportunity for cell culture product portfolio for Japan and extend her/his expertise to support other regions within APAC.
This position reports to the APAC Cell Culture Leader and is part of the BP APAC Team located in Tokyo, Japan.
What you will do:
+ Maintain existing customer accounts and develop new customer relationships for Cell Culture related product lines (Cell Culture Media, Process Liquids and Buffers, Serum, Custom Services and Microcarriers).
+ Work closely with the customer Account Manager throughout the sales process sharing product expertise as well as independently identifying opportunities
+ Accountable for achieving operating plan targets for Japan Cell Culture Modality. Timely and accurate funnel management, forecasting of pipeline & sales using SFDC. Create quarterly business plans for territory/assigned accounts including, but not limited to, opportunity generation, development, and closure as well as competitive strategies and targets. Report monthly on deviations from the plan, pipeline growth, order booking, strategic account mapping, etc.
+ Increase sales orders, maximize margin, market share, customer satisfaction of the product portfolios. Provide business insights through analysis of data within the CRM tool (Sales Force Dot Com - SFDC) to develop regional strategies along with the Bioprocess Account Management team and maintaining records within internal documentation/electronic systems.
+ Use market and product knowledge to assist extended sales teams in developing sales, marketing, and customer account sales strategies.
+ Provide competitive product insight and provide regular feedback on customer satisfaction and needs, to internal stakeholders. Expected to be the voice of customer while bridging the gap between the regional expectations with the global priorities & key stakeholders.
+ Develop the sales of modality solutions in the assigned sales region/territory, establishing long lasting technical customer relationships
+ Work closely with the regional Cell Culture Field Application Specialist(s) and build strategies to improve design-in success rate in the region by molecule targeting approach.
+ Provide high level technical expertise during pre-sales discussions, customer training, post-sales support, seminars, tenders/quotes and promotional events.
+ Continuously develop a network of key decision makers. Build a territory business plan and set quarterly priorities to achieve defined business goals. Contribute to key account plans managed by the Account Management team.
+ Build a strong internal network to drive maximum synergy and customer satisfaction across the business. Work effectively with internal functions, including the account management team, other sales specialists, service engineering, product management, marketing, finance, legal, scientific support, service sales and customer service.
Who you are:
+ Postgraduate or Masters degree in life science or closely related field.
+ 10+ years of experience in technical sales and/or working within the Bioprocess industry; Biotech/Life Sciences and/or Biopharmaceutical industries.
+ Strong knowledge of cell culture production and upstream process with basic understanding of downstream processes.
+ Direct Selling and/or Product Management experience in a complex competitive industrial environment.
+ Sound Knowledge on cGMP documentation, Project handling.
+ Fluency in Japanese and business-level English.
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
+ Willingness to travel 50 – 70% of the time within Japan, APAC and globally to participate in trainings, meetings, and support key projects.
