The APAC Head of Growth Marketing and partnerships plays a critical role in leading various automated marketing functions for Amazon.com.au. The role is highly complex in nature, managing a wide-ranging nature of initiatives across paid and free traffic channels, managing variable investments and driving topline growth through partnerships. The leader influences product roadmap priorities and implementation for APAC through collaboration with worldwide teams and is frequently exposed to WW and APAC and Emerging Marketplaces leadership, being one of the key senior leaders in the APAC Prime, Lifecycle and X-Company Marketing (PLX) organization.
The leader manages key flywheel inputs, managing a highly motivated team whose focus is to optimize managed traffic channels (Associates, Outbound, Social Ads, Free Search, Shopping and Text Ads) by judiciously using programmatic levers to drive efficient growth. The leader needs to keep an eye on trends impacting non-managed channels (Direct, other organic channels) and evaluate key flywheel inputs that impact growth and drive/influence interventions to steer them towards our goals. The role will also identify, launch and scale new associate partners to promote commerce content and drive overall efficiency of the channel. The leader is expected to work with C level executives in Tier 1 partner companies, developing and implementing business cases including scaled investment models and implementing and managing these relationships. Key output goals for this role are – to drive new and repeat customer growth, topline revenue growth, and operate within efficient investment guardrails. The impact of this role is significant and broad, accounting for a large percentage of all amazon.com.au new customers, traffic and revenue. The position reports to the Director, Prime and Marketing.
Key job responsibilities
- Lead formulation of Performance Marketing strategies for APAC, including identifying key target customer cohorts, competitive environment, our program’s strengths and areas to invest for future innovation and growth
- Manage paid and free marketing channels such as Sponsored Links, Google Shopping Ads, Search Engine Optimization and Social Ads.
- Drive topline growth through automated traffic channels while managing marketing budget, meeting ROI criteria.
- Scale and manage Associates business with existing affiliate partners through programmatic automation and identify and scale new partnerships.
- Identify and develop high value brand partnerships with Tier 1 companies across APAC, working with partner teams to execute innovative initiatives
- Manage the weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual business reviews, budgets, planning and reporting processes
- Deliver results and help Amazon exceed goals in revenue, profitability, new and repeat customers, and other high-value Amazon initiatives such as Prime membership
- Work with APAC, EM and WW tech teams to define APAC parity requirements and ensure new products/initiatves on roadmap
- Develop strong relationships and work collaboratively with Stores category teams to achieve shared goals.
- Collaborate with other functional teams within the APAC PLX team as well as finance team to identify and execute new business initiatives.
- Collaborate with WW Automated Variable Marketing stakeholders and technical resources to ensure the company’s infrastructure, architecture, and site features support and enhance the effectiveness of Automated Marketing team’s programs.
- Identify unique opportunities and challenges in APAC by leveraging learnings from customer insights and other WW locales
- Share and learn worldwide best practices to mutually help worldwide marketing teams achieve goals.
