Position Description:

Job Description
We are looking to reinforce the API Architecture team, responsible for overseeing API governance and supporting multiple development teams throughout the API lifecycle. The goal is to ensure value creation, consistency, security, and scalability while industrializing processes in response to a rapidly growing number of APIs.

Candidate Profile
We are looking for professionals with the following experience:
Minimum 1 year in API Governance within large-scale environments, including process industrialization
Minimum 2 years designing APIs using the OpenAPI Specification (OAS), defining API security requirements, and working with leading API Management solutions
Minimum 5 years working with API technologies
Familiarity with standards and protocols such as: OAS v3, OAS v3.1, JSON Schema, OAuth2, OIDC, OAuth 2 mTLS (RFC8705), FAPI
Hands-on experience with API Design tools, linters, and Developer Portals

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Main Tasks
Ensure API lifecycle compliance with organizational governance policies
Review API specifications to align with architectural and quality guidelines
Assess API security models and recommend actions to comply with best practices
Facilitate API lifecycle coordination across multiple teams and projects
Contribute to the industrialization and continuous improvement of API lifecycle processes

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Technical Skills
Strong architecture mindset, able to quickly understand the business purpose of APIs and guide teams to follow design, security, and architectural best practices
Experience with API Management platforms (e.g., WSO2, Apigee, etc.)
Advanced proficiency in OpenAPI v3, Swagger 2, and WSDL
Comfortable working with JSON and XML formats
In-depth understanding of Authentication, Authorization, and Encryption standards, including OAuth2, OIDC, mTLS, FAPI, TLS/SSL
Proficiency in using API design tools and linters

Language Skills
English – Expert (spoken, read, and written)
French – Nice to have

Soft Skills
Strong autonomy, organization, and delivery mindset with attention to detail
Proactive and risk-aware, with a preventive and solution-oriented approach
Strong communication skills and the ability to influence
Motivated, with a strong work ethic and process/results orientation
Experience in multicultural and distributed teams
Proven ability to collaborate as part of a team

Additional Information
This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring on-site presence twice per week
Candidates must be based in mainland Portugal, in the Lisbon or Oporto region, and be available to attend the office as needed
