API Developer - .NET

Location: On site at location listed in job posting. 

Responsible for the development, maintenance and support of software applications APIs typically in a defined project. Primary work focus on execution of business partner requests while following the systems development life cycle for simple to moderately complex systems and applications using a variety of tools and programming languages.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Develops program logic for new applications APIs or analyzes and modifies logic in existing applications APIs. Codes, tests, debugs, documents, implements and maintains software applications APIs. Analyzes and translates business requirements, and maintains, tests and integrates application components. Troubleshoots problems independently by investigating underlying problems. Collaborates with other resources as needed to resolve problems. Provides support for existing APIs and API gateway, including on-call support. Performs all other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Additionally, the qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required in this position:

Bachelor (4-year college) degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field and 2-4 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

Proficiency in C# and familiarity with the .NET framework. Good communication skills for collaborating with team members and stakeholders, particularly in explaining API functionalities Strong understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles Familiarity with Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) such as Microsoft Visual Studio. Familiarity with version control systems like Git. Familiarity with RESTful API principles and design Familiarity with tools for testing APIs (e.g., Postman, SoapUI) Basic knowledge of SQL and database management (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL) Understanding of Agile methodologies like Kanban and software development life cycle (SDLC) Preferred: Familiarity with API management tools and platforms (e.g., APIGEE) Preferred: Familiarity with tools for containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) Preferred: Familiarity with tools like Jira and Confluence Preferred: Some knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., Azure) Preferred: Understanding of security best practices, such as authentication and authorization (e.g., OAuth, JWT).
